As a young individual recovering from substance abuse, I required mental and emotional support during and post my recovery process. After undergoing detoxification and enduring the distressing side effects that led to mood swings and depression, I found myself in a dark mental state. I was grappling with my old habits and confronting a new sober life, which led to severe anxiety and post-traumatic stress. Jalen, my counselor, suggested I seek help from ABC Clinic. After getting in touch with them and going through an assessment, they concluded that I would benefit from their residential treatment program. Their team was exceptionally supportive in tailoring a program that perfectly fit my needs. I completed a month of residential treatment, which was an excellent experience. However, I had to transition from residential treatment to start my therapy sessions. Even after leaving the residential program, I felt the need to continue my journey to recovery. That's when I decided to join their Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) because of my everyday therapy commitments. One of the reasons I sought therapy was to understand my situation better. I was grieving my past life and feeling hopeless. I aimed to learn coping skills to handle my emotional trauma. Every day was mentally challenging and draining, and I was eager to complete my recovery journey and find peace. Attending the IOP daily group therapy sessions at ABC Clinic was exactly what I needed to get through this difficult period. I found a non-judgmental and healing space where I could share my story and find solace in others' experiences. The therapists, including Colin and Philip, were highly knowledgeable and equipped me with coping strategies through their various classes. Each class provided a different perspective, adding to my recovery toolbox. Their caring, patient, and experienced approach was truly commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend ABC Clinic if you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, or grief related to substance abuse. Their flexible program, which can be done in person or via Zoom at different times, was another aspect I truly appreciated.
