Alive Hospice Residence Nashville's Online Review Report Card

I was sorry to read about others’ experiences but I could not have been happier with his care. He was always clean and shaved and one time I walked in on an older employee…I think she was a nursing assistant/care partner brushing his hair and singing to him in a quiet, soothing way. There was only one thing which is so minor it is hardly worth mentioning….i bought lilies for my dad’s room because he loved the smell. He was never conscious so I tried to engage his senses as much as possible. The nurse put them in the shower because they made her sneeze. But that was it. I felt he was treated with the utmost dignity and I felt cared for as well. So did my mother. He passed in November 2018. No one ever asked me to leave the room. So my experience was stellar. I do hope that any irritable staff as described by others are swiftly booted because there should be no place for that in this environment or anywhere. I did have a ridiculous and stressful with a hospital in Connecticut with no connection to Alive. My uncle was dying and his wife did not like us at all and apparently told the nurse all about it. So the nurse made us feel like we were “the bastard at the family reunion” as Dolly Parton said in 9 to 5., it was awful. But just an aside. Not at all related to my dad’s and our family’s experience at Alive.

Absolutely wonderful place. My dad helped plant the flowers out front. My mommy’s last days were spent here and I couldn’t think of a better place for her to be; surrounded by the love and hard work of my dad, as well as the hard work and love of the workers there. I’ve never met kinder, more sincere and helpful people in my life. Thank you for all you do and thank you for being there for my mommy.

Don’t go here My husband was here. They take you in and are so nice but when he was dying , they totally ignored my pleas to help him be comfortable. They were all around a new intake in the room next door. All the frigging nurses not just one. My Husband was 58 years old. He died in pain at this place. I called for the nurse any nurse any help at 1:45 pm. Some ignorant blonde nurse or assistant came in at 2:45. An hour later. Oh we’ve been busy she said. ! My Husband died at 2:24pm. I told her he was already dead. She then said oh I’ll put the time of death as 2:45. I said no you won’t — he died at 2:24 p 2 days before he died he wanted to eat. Jello mainly. A lot of pudding and jello. They didn’t like that. The told me they were not going to let him eat bc he is in a dying place you know. He had end stage liver failure. He was totally yellow. He could not have survived very long anyway. But they wanted him dead asap to get new residents in. That’s how it works here. Keep your loved one home. Let them die at home. Get nurses. Take time off work. Let them die with you at home. Don’t put them In this heartless death chamber.

I honestly can’t imagine how hard it must be for the staff who work here to see grieving family members and death nearly everyday. They were so sweet to my mother and our family. We wanted her to be their for my wedding in August but it was clear she wasn’t going to make it so the staff set up the family room for us to have a wedding and bought us a cake. I truly can’t express how much that meant to us. I think we were both at peace after that and she passed away that night. Thank you again to every single person involved. The kitchen crew, the security guards, the woman who helped clean her up as she was leaving, and of course the nurses. Every single person was so kind.

The staff was amazing and very compassionate when my daddy passed away on August 4,2021 , He told me to make sure he got the best cocktail there, and the staff made sure of it too. and he passed away very peacefully . Thank you for making my daddy's final hours so peaceful and watching his Gunsmoke on the TV. Your staff is complete angel's and I thank you so much. Angela Meter-Pipkin

I cannot even begin to describe the amount of respect, love and appreciation I have for everyone that works in the Murfreesboro location. My Grandma, Chrissy Martin, came here on 12/26 after having a stroke / catastrophic brain bleed on Christmas Day. The care she received here was phenomenal. The care WE , the family , received was phenomenal. My grandma made all of us hold our breath many times. Many false alarm button calls happened and she did her best to make liars out of us all. Everyone in that building found out who Chrissy was and I know she loved every second of that. We laughed, cried, played Elvis and drank so much coffee in our 6 day stay. When Grandma did take her last breath, Phyllis and Connie were beside us and even came back in to sing her Happy Birthday after her passing. I will never forget your faces. Your MD is right. What a blessing it was to have Alive as our Hospice team for the end of my father’s life. They were loving, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable to say the least. They made the hardest time in my life much more peaceful than I ever could have imagined. I want to make sure our team gets the recognition they so greatly deserve, Deb(Nurse), Sandra(tech) and Christa W. (Social worker), Karen (chaplain), please know each one of you impacted our lives and enriched the end of my father’s life. Thank you again for pouring love and support over my family during my father’s passing. May God Bless you all.

The staff was wonderful, and I can't say enough about how nice they treated my husband and myself. I am glad the decision was made to come to Alive Hospice!

I don’t know what I would have done without Alive. When I needed help they were right there, even when I was a blubbering mess. If you are planning for Hospice at Home you need Alive! Thank you to everyone I came in contact with and everyone else waiting to help!

I can’t say enough about Alive Hospice. The care they gave my aunt her last days and the kindness they showed my family was wonderful. They were so informative to us on what to expect. They were so gentle and sweet with my aunt. I can’t say enough wonderful things to say about the staff and facility. We were blessed that we were able to get her here where she was comfortable and died peacefully with dignity. Thank you all Alive Hospice.
