Dr. Shinar and staff are first rate. My knee replacement had several issues which was addressed before and during surgery. He is very detailed down to having his patients use an antibiotic cream in their noses several days before surgery to lessen any chance of an infection. If you have any communication issues with him or his office, it’s your fault.

Heard many horror stories about knee replacements, mine has been a breeze. I expected a long recovery and pain still exists after 7 weeks occasionally but that was also expected. I have had several orthopedic events in my 68 years of sports, farm and motorcycles so I know the drill. I was walking with a walker the same day, finished it after a week and was on a cane for another week. I recommend spending the night after the surgery, it really helped the acclimation. I did professional P.T. for 5 weeks and recommend that also. Dr. Shinar and everyone else are nice and thorough, Vanderbilt is the pro setup. Why go with the rest when you can go with the best!

On March 2 ,2023 went in for an 11yr check up—checked in and as soon as I was seated the nurse called me back and set me up for bilateral knee X-rays which went smoothly. Returned to the patient room and the department resident came in and physically checked the knees and we had a pleasant talk about advances with knee replacement and pickleball. Dr Shinar then came examined my knees and gate as well as discussing pickleball and golf. All was good so I was sent on my merry way to return in 2 yrs. A great visit.
