Dr. Shah performed a repair for my anomalous coronary artery that no one in Knoxville would attempt. He made the process feel comforting for someone who was young and not expecting to have to do this. I traveled to Vanderbilt at the advice of my local cardiologists and can't express how great a decision that was. Dr. Shah and the entire nursing staff and NPs at Vanderbilt were absolutely amazing.

Excellent bedside manner. Very skilled. I required bloodless CABG due to religious reasons. This was not a problem. (I had been turned away from another hospital because they were not equipped to perform my surgery.) I was very confident of the entire staff. Excellent outcome.

Dr Shah is not only one of this countries top cardiac surgeons, but he is also truly a caring, compassionate, wonderful human being. I am alive because of the inspired smal hands of lDr Ashish Shah. He is one meticulous surgeon - one of the best anywhere in the world. Cannot give. Dr Shah enough accolades for his life-saving work. Believe me, you CANNOT go wrong of you select Dr Shah as your suregeon for any type of cardiac procedure.

Dr. Shah was amazing all the way around. Great bedside manner, explained things to us extrememly well, and left us with no additional questions. All of this combined with his talent as a surgeon ultimately saved my 32yr old husband's life when he removed a tumor from inside his heart. Very impressed with everything and cannot thank the entire team enough.

I was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect and underwent open heart surgery in my late twenties. Dr. Shah was open, honest, and explained in great detail the surgery and recovery. He even made himself available by phone and email to answer questions before surgery. Not only was my experience exceptional, Johns Hopkins was a phenomenal hospital! Couldn't have asked for a better experience or doctor.
