most involved and fast acting team i have experienced in all my years of doctors visits! i always feel so heard and valued as a patient
I was misinformed coming into this place by the receptionist on a recorded line. I detailed her what I would be requesting, and while I didn’t have the documents right then & there to prove my medical history, it appeared that wouldn’t have helped the situation at all anyways. The dr they placed me with basically said they wouldn’t help beyond what they offered, whether or not it works for me or not. Funny enough, I got my DNA test results back and her recommended treatment from not even a 20 min conversation in which I did not feel heard was actually in the red for a negative gene/drug interaction. They try to force antidepressants and other useless medications before giving you the benefit of the doubt that you’d tried them before and they didn’t work, while also not promising to tailor to your needs should you provide the appropriate documents, and so I refused treatment, walked out and requested a refund. Here’s the funnier part. They had me pay $100 when my insurance actually was supposed to be billed directly, not me. And they took my card info and then 5 days later filed a claim with my insurance for $230. Well be advised, you have a contract with my insurance that does not allow you to do that and therefore I am NOT liable for your retaliatory charges as noted in my insurance patient portal. Mind you, I walked out kindly and not erratic, but did express my concerns to the front desk in a calm, (reasonably disheartened manner), but it appears this “doctor” who saw me was less worried about me finding the courage to seek help and more worried about her ego when I refused her crap treatment offer which came with no guarantees if I provided my medical history and DNA results. She actually cited “no one at Athena would help me” despite them all being licensed to do so. If you’re licensed and informed enough to do your job, it’s required of you when considering regulated treatments to look up my past prescriptions and you would have found I have absolutely 0 history of substance abuse. The only thing I got out of my experience with them is that for when I take my business elsewhere; I’ll have my 2 psychiatric references ready to go as well as my DNA test results showing I am not an at risk patient; I’m a good girl, I tried alternatives already, and a simple clear understating and genuine care to listen to my story would be sufficient. I wasn’t even asking for a gold pot of magic pills, but simply stating how I work better with medications I could take as needed, and funny enough, the medication I requested is in the green for my DNA test. No gene/drug negative interactions. You may have a degree, but understand you don’t need a degree to understand what’s going on in your own body & life experiences, getting advice from other certified clinics , as well as taking the time to understand my prior diagnosis online. It’s doctors like the one I saw, who try to create immediately a “superior,” and “inferior setting” because they’re more worried about their reputation than actually getting to know someone who took the time to come out to meet you despite facing several severe hardships. So just know, Athena Care is no different than any other useless psychiatrists that try to shove antidepressants down your throat even if they don’t work for your situation, but to put a blanket over themselves because they’re too lazy to actually conduct the thorough research and monitor patients who need tailored treatments, They won’t work with you on it at all. It’s their way or the highway. The only positive take I’ve gotten from this is for my next appointment with a different office, I’ll be providing all documents up front, literally proving I’ve been open to other treatment and even reluctant to take medications in the first place. However, as I’ve gotten older and also by evaluation of my last psychiatrist who I sadly cannot use anymore now that I live in this state full of crooks, it is clear & obvious there are several abnormalities in my mental health that need medicine to correct. Please respect our youth.
Amy is great to talk to. She listens to what I have to say and helps me come up with a plan to address and work through my problems. She makes sure I understand our plan and sets up a time for us to review how the plan is working and find out if we need to make any adjustments. Very happy with the care she provides.
Great experience the past 6 months. I had left medication on a trip and they were prompt and diligent on getting me a temporary refill. Also travel a lot for work and are very flexible with appointments and prescriptions.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
