The facility is great. The aftercare is horrible. I was sent to a sober living run by Mason Moore from stillwater. My first experience in this home in joelton, tn involved Mason and his buddies rattling of every racial slur regarding African Americans that I've ever heard. I sat there as a new house member while 3 guys ive never met in "recovery" dropped more n-bombs than i've ever heard in my life, it was obscene, and I questioned everything at that point. I thought I was involved in a nice group of people, but I was dead wrong. I'll never trust another sober community again after what I went through at that house in joelton. Mason Moore needs a serious checkup from the neckup.
Awesome place. Went to extended care program, best choice i ever made. Love you Cumberland heights!
My wife has cirrhosis of the liver. Her liver is 100% non-functioning takes a special medication that she has to take with special situations to adapt to that she has ulcerative colitis borderline Crohn’s. She’s been there since June 26 and it’s July 4 now and she still has not seen the nutritionist I still have not heard from a case manager And they pull your medical records. They say they care about your loved ones then they push another addiction ((VAPE/Tobacco products on them, especially those like her with the liver damage that harms her liver just as much as the alcohol does so they’re killing her even though they’re trying to get her off alcohol. They’re giving her tobacco product vape pen stuff that’s just as hard on her liver is alcohol. There’s no health benefit to it. She is looking death in the face and they can’t take care of her properly with her diet and giving her vape pens and they think they know what they’re doing at Cumberland Heights River Pike Road I think not. I am beyond upset with this facility.
I have been on Suboxone for five years. My previous provider was no longer accepting my insurance, and I was already five days without my medication. I had called 30 something places with no luck of anyone taking my insurance. Including all of the places my insurance stated was accepted. Cumberland Heights did not accepted my insurance either. However, Todd went above and beyond to help me find a place that did take my insurance; even sending a referral to this place for a person he had only spoken to once. I was in and out of that place the same day. Todd, I can never express my gratitude and tell you how thankful I am that you went out of your way to help me! It doesn’t mean much to some but when you are taking medications to live a normal life; it means the world. Thank you again, Todd! ☺️
Do not get treatment here, unless you're filthy rich. These people are vultures. My insurance didn't cover it all and within less than a year they sued me (and I was unaware) and garnished my paycheck and are still after me. They don't care about your recovery, just your money. This treatment center is the worst. If I could give negative stars I would.
This place is a joke! All about money. Billed insurance for things that didn't happen. The entire experience was horrible. Please don't send you loved one to this facility. You will be sorry.
CH is beautifully situated. The cafeteria food is very good. I learned at CH that it really doesn't matter where you go to get sober. Apart from its beautiful location and good food, there are serious problems with staffing. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community, I can wholeheartedly recommend that you find another facility. The former addicts and "good ole boys" who work as counselors at CH are very, very limited in their capabilities. They foment a "frat boy" atmosphere. I have remained sober for years through my own strength and resilience and not through any particular tools learned at CH.
Only place in this part of the country that could help me. Had to come from over 200mi away because everywhere else had "doctors" in their early 20s that shouldn't even be allowed to practice at a rinky-dink medicine wagon show. If you're an especially stupid kind of addict like me, that uses substances too new for street names then you need to be aware that CH is one of maybe 3 places in the country that does actual research on addiction & novel substances of abuse. So they can and will do everything that is medically legal - regardless of bulls*** protocols - to properly detox YOU & save your life. In addition to the medical staff, the counselors, CAs, therapists and other staff were all wonderful. Special shout-outs to Natalie ❤️, Ed, Eddy, big John, Amanda, Deana, Jack (happy retirement!), Dr. Z, Dr. Sledge, so many others. Patient-staff ratio felt like 4:1 though it's probably not quite that high. Small-group or 1-on-1 therapy sessions almost every day. You can call family every day once detoxed, and might be able to have a visitation. You also get an hour with your mobile phone every 2-3 days. They hand you a tablet for appts/notes that also allows access to YT, being able to play music on headphones was a big deal for me. It's an expensive place, especially if your insurance is trash but it's worth every penny. First time I was here I stayed clean 11 years, second time they helped me pinpoint exactly where I screwed up and now I know how to stay clean the rest of my life.
The staff here are amazing! The depth of recovery knowledge and length of sobriety were life saving. So many loving people in one center made me feel incredibly supported. Getting sober is incredibly frightening in so many ways. And i couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm a little over 8 months sober now and extremely grateful for my new life.
Cumberland Heights in Nashville, TN provides exceptional services to patients, families, and professionals. Their commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of their care. I especially want to thank Carol Jane for her hard work and invaluable guidance. Her support has been instrumental on our journey.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
