I have seen Drs. Smith & Truscello for a number of years. Have ALWAYS received excellent care. Had surgery w/Dr. Smith in Dec 2021, everything went well. ❤️ the Nashville staff. Suffered a recent fracture, again the care was above average. My SIL is seen here as well. Would NOT go anywhere else, nor should you.
Been a patient a long time. Dr. Truscello is extremely knowledgeable. I’ve referred friends and family with zero complaints. I think they had some staff issues when they opened up new branch in Nashville, but in my experience that has long been fixed?
Dr Bush seem nice, definitely knows what he’s doing but I wasn’t even in the door 5 minutes and they told me I had to pay an estimated total that day. I have never been to a doctors office that did that do I never even thought to ask. If that’s your policy then you should tell me up front. Usually they run my insurance and then send me a bill. My doctor referred me to other practices. Will be choosing them next time.
After researching for quite some time to find a doctor that would understand my desire to get back out on the trails quickly- I decided on Dr. Truscello. My first appointment went great. I was in and out in a timely manner. We had a plan and I was prepared to move forward. Surgery was scheduled and I was hopeful that I'd be back to normal in no time. Everything went south from there. My surgery was canceled the night before due to 'issues with insurance'. This was a huge inconvenience- since I was already off work and had arranged care. But, I brushed it off and pushed forward to get the surgery rescheduled. I called the office a minimal of ten times and couldn't get a call back (from Lexi). I finally called my insurance company to understand what was going on. They said that they couldn't get a copy of the x-rays, and therefore wouldn't approve the surgery. So I continued to call the office asking for a call back. One day, Joy answered the phone. I explained my situation. She apologize profusely. She said she would speak with Dr. Truscello and get back to me. Later that afternoon - I got a call, and sincere apology, from Lexi. She admitted that I had slipped through the cracks and said she was on top of it now. She promised to call me everyday until we had the surgery scheduled. While I thought this was a little over the top, I was happy to hear that we were going to get this resolved and put the past in the past. Lexi called me the following day with an update and then I never heard from her again. My rating here is not for Dr. Truscello, as I never had the opportunity for him to work on my foot. My rating is for Lexi and her inability to do her job and her lack of respect for my time. Now, after ten weeks of not receiving answers or calls... I am on the hunt for a new surgeon. If you plan to use Gateway Foot and Ankle Center- I suggest you make sure that Lexi is not responsible for your insurance approval or surgery scheduling.

I am so thankful to have found a doctor and staff that is friendly, professional, and 100 percent proficient. They worked me in and made me feel so much better. It was an embarrassing, painful, ingrown toenail put to rest. Thank you .
Dr. Bush is one of the nicest physicians I’ve ever met. I wish other doctors had his bedside manners. He explained my procedure to me in terms I could understand. I highly recommend this excellent surgeon.
Dr. Bush did bunion surgery on my wife and did an excellent job. The followup and even after normal hours assistance done by Dr. Bush personally was above and beyond we have ever experienced. Thank you to all that made this a good experience.
Foot and Ankle Centers is the best place to have your feet operated on! I had an ingrown toenail that Dr. Bush took care of for me. He did a great job! I loved how he explained everything before he did it. They have a great, friendly staff as well.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
