List of Gold Skin Care Center's Reviews
Everyone was very nice and helpful. They explained everything that I had questions about, Mandy is just fantastic and very kind. Great bedside manners. I have only had great experiences at the Gold skincare center.
Was referred here by a Doctor Benjamin Bueno who diagnosed me with scabies which I contracted in another country. The symptoms were obviously indicative of a parasitic infection as previous treatments with topical steroids had been entirely ineffective while treatments with antiparasitic medications were effective in treating the infection. By the time I had my appointment I was just looking to make sure my treatments had eliminated the presence of mites or mite eggs in the relatively small affected area. My main provider was exceedingly kind and helpful and offered upon my insistence to take multiple scrapings to ensure I was cured. My two-star rating comes from my experience with the PA/nurse who handled my intake and took down my information and issue to relay to my main provider for the visit. She was entirely obtuse and rude in her near-denial of my lived experience with the infestation which I had been dealing with for FOUR MONTHS by the time of my visit. The moment she asked what brought me in and heard “I have scabies,” the unprofessional skepticism began. She asked me if it had been diagnosed, to which I replied with the name of the physician who referred me to this clinic. She asked if I had been given any diagnostic tests—I was there to get diagnostic tests—to which I replied “no, that’s why I’m here.” Her reply to that response would color the rest of my experience with her, and, with the kind and gentle demeanor of the main provider excepted, this clinic as a whole. The reply was as follows: “Oh, so you don’t really know if you have scabies.” And no, I guess I didn’t have proof beyond the months of moving burrows under my skin and the unbearable nighttime itching and the diagnosis from another physician and the effectiveness of antiparasitic drugs in the treatment of my condition. I advocated for myself with the otherwise very kind main provider and got a few scrapings which thankfully turned up clear thanks to the combination of ivermectin and spinosad treatments I had been prescribed from Dr. Bueno. They still insisted it was probably some ridiculous form of eczema that looked and felt exactly like a scabies infection and sent me home with a prescription for a stronger steroid which I had no symptoms indicative of a need for. Only go here if you want acutane or lip fillers or have no other options. The actual doctors are probably all lovely and will listen to you if you insist but everything else sucked. Was very disheartened to see another review where someone had an even worse experience than me. Seems this was indicative of the medical field as a whole.
I had perioral dermatitis and went to Gold Skincare for help. I was prescribed elidel topical and was told it was less dangerous than starting steroids and did not have the same withdrawal symptoms. This was a lie. After 5 ish months of use I’ve stopped the topical and the withdrawal rash/dryness is debilitating. It’s truly horrific and I have no clue how long it will last. It is devastating and I cannot believe dermatologists get away with ruining peoples lives like this from being so incredibly ill informed. This has truly been a nightmare. Please do research on any medications before starting them, no matter what the doctor says. Elidel is an immunosuppressant just like steroids and can cause TSW.
Dr. Gold clearly does not care about his patients. Very little communication, dismissive, and arrogant. I have a huge permanent scar because of a poor stitch job that I had to beg to come back for. When I did come back to express that it looked like it was going to heal poorly, I was once again dismissed. Take note of the cash register in the lobby. That's all he seems to care about.
Everyone is always so professional and nice.
11/7/24 was by far the worst experience I have ever had while visiting a provider’s office. I work with patients myself and would never allow this to happen to any of them. The front staff is by far the most disrespectful and degrading staff anyone can have. While visiting as I did every 2 weeks I was embarrassed and humiliated in front of other patients because I had a balance but was paying my copayments the front staff felt it was ok to talk and laugh about the fact I asked for a bill so my husband could pay for it as he requested and itemized statement. Never would I ever imagine that that would start a mocking and laughing conversation between both front staff. I left the office crying. Tho I must say the clinical staff is different and expressed there disagreement with what I had just experienced but I was also told that those 2 have done this before yet they still working at that clinic which I expressed I would never attend.
I have been to Dr. Gold office for more than 2 decades. In that time I have known Melody who works at front desk for all that time. For her kindness and dedication to her work I highly recommend Dr. Gold’s office because of employees like her and all her colleagues. Like Nurse Practitioner Maggie Sohmer who has always given me great care. All the nurses and support staff at Dr. Gold’s office are personally and professionally great people. And Dr. Gold himself is the best dermatologist in Tennessee and one of the best in the world. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Took my granddaughter here and they are amazing with her..She was nervous but they made her feel comfortable included her in the game plan and made sure she understood everything..I was pleased when we left she was happy and felt better:)
very rude staff especially Dr Gold, but that’s not the main thing that made me write this review, the main thing is that I did PRP treatment with them and it was a big failure. i didn’t see any results one year later.
The experience here was excellent! From the very pleasant personality at the front desk to the 3 ladies I encountered once in the exam room ! I walk with a cane so , the lady at the front desk with the beautiful smile insisted on getting up and collecting my paperwork and returning my insurance card and ID! Stevie , Marcie and Elizabeth are jewels ! Thanks for making a very anxiety ridden day so much easier !!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
