Dr Schaefer has been the best doctor I've had got my transplant at Vandy just over a year ago and it's been so great to have her by myside though out this process. She is kind and super attentive to my needs.. She has really spoiled me:)

I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at age 7. 22 years later I was told by a doctor in Huntsville my kidney function was 10% after 8 months of dialysis I was ready to receive my second chance at life. My doctor first was Dr. Puck Jittarat but she ended up moving to Hawaii so before she left she transferred me over to Dr. Schaefer. I had seen her a few times and was nervous about changing doctors but she was so much like Puck and every visit is great she is an amazing doctor and person

Dr. Schaefer has monitored my health as a post-transplant patient for over eight years now. She is an excellent doctor -- kind and compassionate, patient, up-to-date on treatment options. She listens with great heart and a wonderful sense of humor. I haven't had a single rejection episode in eight years. I'm very happy to have worked with her and would recommend her to anyone needing kidney health treatment.

Dr. Schaefer was my doctor for about 7 years. I have had my fair share of doctors, having had kidney trouble since birth, and she is the best EVER. If only we still lived close.
