Joy Cox's Online Review Report Card

It's taken me two years to write this review, because my experience with Dr. Cox (and one other doctor in this group) was so horrible. First and foremost, I will say Dr. Cox is "nice." She seems to care, so you feel relaxed when you walk in to see her. For me, I had already been dealing with an issue with another doctor in this office, so by the time I saw Dr. Cox, I was ready to get a fresh, new opinion and hopefully, get this thing taken care of. Instead, Dr. Cox did an exam, took a urine sample, looked at my chart and pulled marketing materials for a "chronic" condition she was "sure I had." Her advice was to find ways to "manage the problem." I immediately broke down crying and lost all hope in this office. I knew this was an acute issue and no one was helping me. Finally, it took an NP in my Functional Med's office to cure me of my problem - not the Uro-Gyno (Cox)! Absolutely ridiculous. If you're looking for someone who will "dig deep" and help, Cox isn't it. Period.

Dr. Cox and her nurse were both so professional and kind. I worry about being treated well at the doctor because I am fat and so sometimes people in general, doctors and nurses included, don’t treat me with the same gentleness and kindness as they do other people. Dr. Cox listened to me and took my concerns seriously. She took time to explain options to me and during the exam she kept me informed about what she was doing (which I feel always helps me relax a bit). She ordered all the necessary tests instead of just blaming everything on my weight and although “losing weight” was mentioned it wasn’t the only possible solution mentioned. As someone who has weight cycled for the past 17 years who is now trying to embrace HAES and learn how to take care of my body in a holistic and kind way versus trying to beat it into submission or starve myself thin, doctors offices can be very scary. I was so pleasantly surprised and relieved after my appointment I literally cried. Dr. Cox is one of the kindest doctors I’ve ever met and I hope she gets every single good thing she wishes for in this life and the next. Dr. Cox and her nurse were both so professional and kind. Dr. Cox is excellent. I’ve know many physicians since I worked in the medical field. She is so amazingly thorough in her explanations. Her knowledge of every aspect of my care built tremendous confidence in her abilities.

Dr. Cox is a very knowledgeable doctor. She is very kind and gentle. She took time to explain everything to me. I am so happy to find such a kind and caring doctor who is also super intelligent!

I have seen Dr. Cox for over 10 years. She is the sweetest doctor. She delivered both of my babies and both were great experiences. I highly recommend!

I have never had as much trust in a physician as I have in Dr. Cox. She’s delivered 2 of my kids and gone so far above and beyond to address any of my concerns - even calling me on a weekend. She is kind and patient and I’d recommend her to anyone.

Joy Cox is the best ever! My wife was having a really life changing problem. After a short 20 minute surgery her problem has been completely solved. I can’t say enough good things about Joy. Not only is she a great surgeon but she has great people skills. The first time we met with her I told my wife, we’ve found the answer. We both had a peace and level of confidence that helped us move forward. Sooo glad we did! Thank you Dr. Cox.

Thankful for Dr. Joy Cox and her partner Dr. Jennifer Tatalovich and their confidence in a complex surgery at the center of my core.Dr. Cox was the "4th opinion" amongst the best in Nashville. She offered the facts: a "10-to-20% failure rate" in recovery --- more promising than all others "40% failure rate".Recovering was intense...... DANCING 9 WEEKS LATER on Good Friday and feeling extremely blessed by their confident and skilled hands!!!!
