Nhc Heartland's Online Review Report Card

Checked my dad in on February 14 2025. He died on February 16 2025. This facility never called to give condolences but they sent a bill though, two weeks later but we were told he would be covered for six months. Went to pick up his belongings and the room smelled like old man pee. If you are expecting your loves ones to get better do not send them here. My dad's second day here he died.

We have dropped off our Aunt for care that we are unable to do anymore. So far the care has been excellent.

This is really a very nice place! I don't know where this little bit of bad mouthing is coming from. The Staff takes good care of me and I have about a half dozen things wrong with me. The food is like home cooked style and the rooms are very clean. I,d recommend this facility to anyone in need of health care. Thank You.

Heartland Nursing home did an excellent job caring for my mother the past several years. She landed there halfway thru the pandemic, so I can touched by how considerate & communicative they were. they were so kind to bring an iPad around so we could zoom with our mom weekly. I later learned, the staff even had a nickname for her, ‘Smiley.’ My interactions with the staff were always professional, and they went out of their way to accommodate mom when she got sick toward the end of her time there. Watching them parade into her room to say goodbye was so touching. I’ll Never forget these nurses and techs. If you are looking for a place that feels like family, this could be the place for you.

My Uncle was in that place for 3 years. The 3rd floor where he was always smelled of urine and he had ants in his room. To make matters WORSE his daughter LIED, was able to get a POA and took the rights from his wife because, she isn't well and is in a different nursing home. He had family that would call from out of state to check on him and that was BLOCKED too. Now he's passed away. I wouldn't put a sick animal in that place let alone a family member.

This is by far the best nursing home! The staff are amazing and very caring.

Lakeshore Heartland is a wonderful center!! The administrative staff is amazing, supportive, and easily-reached. The staff on the floors provide excellent patient care and their compassion really shines. They have the most fun activities and outings! Definitely recommend!!!

This place saved my life and got me walking again. I was their for 1month .this PLACE ROCKS

Sent for physical rehab.. all they did was move furniture from floor to floor. hardley seen any rehab person. Got weaker as time progressed. Very hard to got out even when Medicare quit paying. Thought I was going home but ended back in hospital at midnight.

If I could leave a 0 I would. This place was horrible. The food was old and cold. The room that they put my mom in had NO AC. They refused to believe her until I went up there. If you care about your loved ones, do not send them here. There is virtually no staff on weekends and it takes hours for someone to respond to a call button. The staff on the weekends are agency workers. They do not give two cents about the patients. I talked to the social worker, the director, and manager and they all seemed oblivious to what's going on in their facility. I was promised things will get better but they weren't. I agree 100% with the one person's comment of "This place needs to be shut down and under a thorough investigation for negligence." My mom also seen roach bugs while there which we have photos of -
