Dr. Pulliman was amazing and I love the results of the work he did. I would definitely recommend him to any friends. My only criticism would be that I was initially quoted for general anesthesia when local anesthesia is sufficient and the standard. Not only did this raise the price, but recovery is longer after general and just should be avoided if not necessary. However they did not push back when I requested a switch to local anesthesia instead. Very hospitable staff!
I made an appointment for a consultation with Robert Pulliam to confirm that a small growth inside my cheek was a common lipoma. I made the appointment at 12-noon and was able to get in that same day at 1:30 p.m. As is standard, I turned in my insurance info when I arrived for my appointment. Before being led to an examination room, we stopped at the panoramic X-ray machine which is rather oddly located across from the reception desk. I immediately questioned why I needed a full mouth X-ray for something as simple as a lipoma diagnosis and was told that “the doctor requested them in the morning meeting.” Interesting, when you consider that my appointment wasn’t made until 12-noon that same day so there is no way the topic came up in the daily morning meeting. Did I mention that those are $175 X-rays? And as soon as I was seated in the exam room, the tech took two photos of my mouth with a digital camera. Again, other than profit margins, WTH? After a very brief conversation, Pulliam confirmed that it was a lipoma, and I made an appointment via the tech in the room to have it removed. When I stopped at the reception desk before leaving, I was informed that they were not in my network. Why on earth did they wait until after my appointment to let me know this when, as I said, they received my insurance info when I arrived for my appointment. In the days leading up to the appointment for the procedure I asked for a cost breakdown since they were out of network. After receiving that info, I decided it made better financial sense to go with an in-network provider and cancelled my appointment. Two months had passed when I received an invoice for my consultation at Pulliam’s. While I was obviously expecting a consult charge, I was not pleased with the additional charges for the pano X-Ray and the two digital photos of my mouth as neither had anything to do with why I was getting a consult. Lesson learned: ask a lot of questions in advance or, better still, shop around.
Michele was very descriptive in her assessment, and aware of my cold sensitivity.
I have only written one review online before (and it was favorable) but, I am compelled to write this one. Dr. Meister is amiable and the staff is courteous but, I found the quality of care to be substandard. I had been a patient of the office since moving to the area a few years ago and had regular deep cleanings there.. Earlier this year, I went to see Dr. Meister to cement back in an implant crown that had come off its post. When he finished the work, he told me it might come out again (which was troubling in itself) and charged about $600 for the service. When the crown came out again a month or so later, I called his office to schedule an appointment. After explaining the reason for my call and request for an appointment, I was told that they would get back to me after speaking with Dr. Meister. When they did, I was told that I needed to go back to the dentist who originally installed the implant several years before. Soon thereafter I traveled back to California to see my longtime dentist there and he successfully reinstalled the implant crown. While examining my mouth he quickly discovered that, unrelated to the implant, I have a serious infection in my gums that had been there spreading for a very long time... and gone undetected by Dr. Meister. Bottom line is, if you only want to have your teeth cleaned, this practice may be sufficient for you. However, if you want quality preventive dental/periodontal care and treatment by a dentist/periodontist who stands behind their work, then, I suggest going elsewhere.
Be Careful! This business charges you just for a $200-$400 consultation and does not disclose this. I'd like to provide the email I sent to them as feedback after my experience. I hope this is helpful for readers and for the business to improve. ------- XXXXX, Much appreciate you providing this quote so quickly. This is a fair number. Unfortunately, the experience I had in the office really left a bad taste in my mouth (pardon the pun). I cannot move forward with you all. In short, I was required to pay $220 just for the consultation, which was not disclosed to me and was quite shocking when I went to leave yesterday. When I asked why I was told that “CT scans are expensive” and “we normally charge $400, but we gave you a discount.” When I asked why this charge was not told me to up front I was told “well you have to understand periodontics is different.” Charging for a consultation for a medical procedure without disclosing a charge for that meeting is not an acceptable business practice to me, nor was any remedy offered. Additionally, the attitude of your front end staff was frankly patronizing. No other periodontist charged me a fee for their consultation, all of them are in the same general Green Hills area. I hope this feedback is helpful for the business’ owners so they may improve their processes. I know I like honest feedback in my business. Good Day. ---- I will add that the periodontist himself was pleasant and seemed to be an experienced Dr, no issues at all with the professional / medical personnel.
Wonderful experience at perio associates - I would recommend them to any friend or family member. As a dentist myself, I've referred many patients to both Drs Pulliam and Penner and witnessed their excellent work. I was recently a patient of Dr. Pulliam's and can attest to his meticulous attention to detail and outstanding patient care. The entire staff is welcoming and attentive. 10/10!
Michelle is awesome!!! Love her!!!
Nobody likes teeth cleaning but this was as good as it could be. Good advice given for better care of teeth and gums. Friendly technician. Overall, good job!
Patricia did an awesome job cleaning my teeth. She has a very calming nature which is such a huge positive. She deserves a raise!! Kudos to the entire practice!! They are all 5 star especially Dr. Pullium. If you are considering him for dental work, you will love him.
She did an excellent job with my periodontal cleaning.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
