List of Poonam R. Somai's Reviews
Very caring and thorough. Has my arthritis in control.
Staff are all excellent and helpful. Jennifer the PA has been wonderful to me and is finally helping me get the treatment I so desperately have been seeking for so long! I now feel optimistic about my disease since prior to working with her I was depressed and in pain …with other doctors dismissing my complaints!! She is compassionate and intelligent- the best combination for a professional healthcare provider.

The receptionist is terribly rude. First thing she says when you get to the window is “new or existing?” She’s too busy to be bothered. Not sure it’s worth a 60 minute wait to get blood tests here that the doctor has requested.
The rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Hateful as heck about being late and wearing a mask. But the off was running 45mins behind.
Seems they push meds but don’t do anything else to help. Long waits.
I've been a patient of Dr. Somai's for several years now. I had gone to a number of physicians, including a rheumatologist, for about 20 years prior to seeing her. I was told over and over that they could not find anything wrong with me. All the routine screening tests for RA were negative. I finally gave up and reconciled myself to feeling miserable. It wasn't until I began to have joint deformities in my hands that decided to give it one more try. Dr. Somai took a lengthy family history and spent quite a bit of time on my physical examination. She asked me a lot of questions and did a bucket full of labs. She diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis or non reactive rheumatoid arthritis. The routine RA tests were still negative, but because she spent time taking my family history, asking questions and with the physical exam, I finally had the diagnosis that I should have had 20 years ago. I will always be grateful for her help and expertise. Instead of dismissing my complaints, she listened to me. I never mind waiting when my appointment time goes over.I feel certain it's because she or her staff are spending the time another patient might need. Dr Somai and her medical staff are always professional, attentive and I have recommended them to friends.

I have been seeing Dr. Somai's office for several years. I have seen her in person ONE time after a 1hour and 20 minute wait. (except for the steroid shots in my joints which she performs in person) All other times I've seen her associates. I do not feel that they hear my concerns and rather explain issues off as "possible other existing conditions". I would not recommend her as she does not respect appointment times and seems to have no problem making you wait for hours after your scheduled appointments.
For someone accepting new patients, you can't get an appointment for 4 months out. Even with a doctor referral with blood work that has significant problems (RA levels through the roof, extreme white blood cell count, etc), we were supposed to see her today, and they messed up the appointment and scheduled for a month out. Made NO effort to try and work her in while we were there for the appointment that WE scheduled with them, even with blood work justifying a significant problem. The receptionist went and spoke to a nurse, didn't even speak to the doctor....Now my wife, who has already endured the debilitation, leprosy like hives, extreme debilitating pain for the past 10 days, will have to go another month like this if they had their way. We will never go back, and we will discourage anyone from going to see her. Obviously, her practice must be doing so well, that she can't treat people who actually need to see her, even though she is "accepting new patients"....she can't get t

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
