List of Robertson Chiropractic & Applied Kinesiology's Reviews
Dr. Robertson is an incredible professional who provides holistic services that are to be incorporated into our everyday life. He is trained in a number of areas and is so knowledgeable! My husband and I both go to him and we have started taking my 17 year old niece to him as well. We are very pleased with him and his practice! He is also an awesome person!
I have seen Dr. Robertson for over 10 years now and am very happy with his knowledge, his understanding of health and wellness, and his ability to use Applied Kinesiology in a most helpful way. I had back pain 10 years ago that had me stymied. It was unreleneting and had occured because I was River Dncing (not a good idea for me!) and I had thrown out my sacrum. I was nearly disabled for 6 weeks and in that time had had acupuncture, a different kind of chiropractic, massage, reiki, and various other modalities to help with pain. It wasn't until I saw Dr. Robertson that the problem was finally addressed and in my first visit there was noted relief and I knew that he understood and could remedy my situation. I have been with him ever since! I appreciate his scope of knowlege and his friendly manner. His wife Kat is also a pleasure to work with and overall I thoroughly enjoy my visits there with improved health and wellness as the ongoing benefit.
I will try to keep this review short, and to the point. Dr. Robertson is the best chiropractor I have ever visited. I have been a patient for years. I don't know how many so I'm not going to guess and run the risk of exaggerating. Throughout the years, he has incorporated new techniques into the sessions. This tells me that he is not afraid to learn, instead of doing the same things over and over. He has always answered questions and will readily admit it if he doesn't know the answer. How rare is that in the medical community? I have been extremely impressed with his work, and have recommended him to anyone who was looking for a very competent chiropractor. Supplements are available for purchase in the office, but I have NEVER felt pressured to buy anything. To me, this is a testament to his character. I try to get adjusted every month but there are times when three months go by before I get back in. Again, I've never been pressured to get on a treatment plan like some other chiropractors I've been to. When I'm out of adjustment, I call or book online, then go in and get adjusted. Very simple and straightforward. No games or pressure, just good honest service from a family-owned small business.
Excellent patient care. I am not someone who likes to take meds or pills of any sort. Dr. Robertson listens to me and advises me on how I can effect my health with my diet as well as lifestyle. I see him on a "regular" basis, which for me is when I can, usually every 2 months. He is attentive to my needs, answers all my questions and doesn't rush me during my appointment. If I have an ache or injury, Dr. Robertson is my first call. Thanks for the great care!
Dr. Robertson has revolutionized our family's health! I thought we were healthy eaters. No sodas, no candy, no McDonalds kind of family. We are very active, outdoors people. But, my 14yo dd suffered miserably with massive nose bleeds and migraines. The M.D.s kept saying it was just seasonal allergies and she needed to be on allergy medicine all her days. I took her to Dr. Robertson, and with his nutritional analysis and chiropractic adjustments she has not had ANY more pain or nose bleeds for 2 years now! Move on to 10yo ds with extreme mood swings and daily nausea. Again with the nutritional analysis, is a stable, compassionate healthy boy. For myself, I had a crazy rash and swollen eye for which the MDs continued to prescribe steroid creams. Dietary changes changed everything! It wasn't that we weren't healthy eaters, but that there were specific things that each of our bodies were fighting against. Finding those specifics and getting them out of the individual's diet has made each of us stronger.
Dr. Robertson has been helping my father with sciatica, back and neck pain for several months. He has provided tremendous relief and has identified the root of his problems with kinesiology. His chiropractic adjustments and nutritional suggestions have made a huge difference in my father's health and well-being. His wife, Kat, is very friendly and keeps the office running efficiently and smoothly. I'm a health practitioner, and I chose to refer my father to Dr. Robertson because I know many of his happy patients who have benefited from his care for many years. If you are looking for pain relief or to optimize your health, I suggest you see this fabulous doctor!
My daughters and I have been seeing Dr. Robertson for almost 2 years. He was recommended to me following a back injury by one of my neighbors. I found Dr. Robertson to be extremely patient with all of my questions and highly knowledgable about health in general. I began taking my daughters to him for adjustments and preventative care. Ages 16 and 14, they both enjoy their appointments. We have always found Dr. Robertson to be informative, skilled and funny. He has never been rude or pushy. We would highly recommend him as a practitioner.
I have gone to chiropractors my entire life. I have experienced all different styles and personalities. Dr. Robertson will have my loyalty for as long as I live in Nashville. He is committed to the entire process of wellness. He is sensitive to rhythms of the body that go beyond just bone on top of bone. He recognized that I was carrying tension and fear in my body after I had a home invasion without needing to tell him. After multiple visits to medical doctors of varying kinds, Dr Robertson was the one who suggested that I needed to have my small intestine checked for infection. I asked my general practitioner to test it and I was told that if I hadn't had it checked when I did the infection would have most likely spread to my gallbladder resulting in surgery. I He can tell when my diet isn't balanced and explains how certain foods effect certain organs and in turn how those organs can cause pain I have often attributed to "lifting something too heavy" or "repeated workout stress." He is incredibly gifted at what he does and is in a pursuit to always know more and better his practice. I would and have recommended my own family to him. We are now 3 generations committed to Dr Robertson's practice. I am glad that I have a chiropractor who cares enough to be bluntly honest with me about what steps I need to take in order to reach true health. He has my business and my gratitude.
I have been going to Dr. Robertson now for almost 10 years. He and his wife Kat are the most genuine, caring, and respectful people out there. Dr. Robertson will spend the time with you (if you are willing) to really find the root of the problem and not just a cover for the problem. I am now married, with a 2.5 year old, and another on the way. My husband sees Dr. Robertson, my son has seen him since birth, and I continue to get adjustments through this pregnancy. I trust every thing Dr. Robertson does and recommends. We even utilize him instead of going to a typical dr. Now, we are not against going to a western medicine doctor, but we don't need to by utilizing Dr. Robertson and his practices of kinesiology and chiropractic care. Once again, finding the root of the problem and not just covering it up. The best out there!!
I'm not a Yelp-writer. I never post on here, but I read avidly. However, my experience at Robertson Chiropractic appalled me so much that I don't want anyone, not even my worst enemy (wait, who even has worst enemies anymore??), to have to encounter Steven Robertson. It started out alright. I took a fall at work a few months ago and threw everything out of whack in my back. I'm fairly new to town, so I needed a new chiropractor. I'm at an awkward stage of in-between health insurance plans for another month or two, and I didn't have any kind of coverage at the time. Because of that, every chiropractor I called only had appointments several months down the road for new patients. One of them referred me to Steven Robertson. I remember trying to find reviews but there were none, however I was desperate enough I set up an appointment right away without any knowledge of how he treats his patients. There's plenty of background info on his site, and he seemed pretty fine. The first time cost me $140, I think, because I was a new patient and had to have the full assessment. Looking back, he spent about 15 minutes with me and both of my two my appointments were exactly the same in terms of the amount of adjustments and time. He cracked my back just fine. I don't think he's a miracle worker, but I enjoyed it and it did make me feel better. However he seemed to only want to discuss my diet. Every time I asked him a question, "Why are you adjusting my elbow?" or "How does that work?" he completely ignored me and went on to discuss what I like to eat. When I answered by saying I had a bowl of shredded wheat (the plain kind, not the sugar-coated kind) for breakfast, he assured me, quite seriously, that I was like a beautiful tree that would shrivel up by the time I was 40. He said that's how soon I'll die if I continue to eat my shredded wheat for breakfast. He then went on to talk endlessly about my blood sugar levels before shoving Cataplex GTF into my hand and practically rushing me out the door. Now I thought it was funny, and really quite rude too, but I'm a kind person and I didn't mind the ridicule! I bought his silly supplement and walked out, my back feeling probably 60% better. I'm a fan of treating my body well. I run 3-4 times a week, lift weights, do plenty of yoga, and walk my dog at least 2 miles a day. I consume plenty of veggies, lots of fruit, and don't eat meat. Which is why I didn't take the Cataplex GTF; when I got home I realized it was made of bovine pancreas and bovine liver. First off, ew. Second, even if I ate meat, I would be hard-pressed to consume that. Fast forward to recently, when I sat wrong on a wood floor and completely messed up my lower-back/hip. This has happened to me before. When I lived in LA, my chiropractor felt the area, explained on a diagram exactly how one side of my hip had slipped out of place, and whacked it back to where it should be. Amazing. Fixed. Done. I explained this to Steven Robertson and he cut me off, adjusted my upper back, one of my elbows, and felt my pancreas. That's when he went off on me, asking me what kind of fruit I'd eaten and how I would get age spots all over my body in the next two years if I continue to eat fruit. I smiled and said alright, asked him if he'd fixed the problem area since he never even touched it, and he assured me everything should fall back into place. That made sense to me, but it still hurt like hell. About an hour later the pain came back ten times worse. It's a shooting pain in the exact spot I showed him. I waited it out a day, but I could hardly even walk my dog. I called him and said in a very nice manner that the problem area I showed to him Monday was hurting so much worse, and maybe I just hadn't explained it well enough. I told him that I'd like to come back in to see if we could work something out. This morning he left me a very, very condescending voicemail saying that if I continued to eat fruit I would have horrible pain my entire life and there was nothing he could do for me. My sugar levels are so high that I'll suffer forever unless I eat 2- 4 of those Cataplex GTF tablets a day. There was no reason for him to be so incredibly rude, especially when I paid him money and he really hurt me. I was looking for a solution; he was looking to be a jerk. I love chiropractors. I know some are a little hippy-dippy, and I don't mind that! But he proceeded to shove how unhealthy I am down my throat and really messed up my back. Had he done bloodwork to have any idea what my sugar levels are? Absolutely not. I get it, it's all connected - but he was so insanely rude and hurt me so badly, I never wish that kind of experience upon anybody.
