List of Rolando Toyos's Reviews
Dr Toyos and staff fabulous! Dr Toyos performed my cataract surgery and it was 100% successful! NO problems afterwards or since. I was careful choosing and I'm glad for that! Staff is great too! Dr Armstrong was thorough and informative too. She took lots of time with me discussing options before Dr Toyos actually performed the surgery. Highly recommend!
I have been a patient of Dr. Toyos for over 10 years treating me for dry eyes. He uses the most current treatments and procedures possible to treat my condition and has done more to investigate this condition than any MD I know. He also researches the latest in technology and treatments to further help his patients. I highly recommend him, and his wife, Dr. Melissa Toyos!
Maricruz from Dr Rolando Toyos’ office called to change my appointment due to a scheduling conflict. She offered to put me on a cancellation list if a more convenient time became available. This was very important since I travel from IL. A day later there was a cancellation and she rescheduled me. I was thrilled. Thank you Maricruz for help and consideration!! Not a good experience on so many levels. Started off at the Green Hills location and Winter is the worst, the entire time I was there she & her colleagues discussed other patients in my presence and was extremely rude to me. I had the lens replacement surgery which is just a cataract surgery, I am 8 months post opp and still having problems. Melissa was dismissive and Dr Toyos said a second surgery is needed. I finally got second opinion at MECA and now I’m on affordable drops (Toyos sold me at least 6 different drops on every visit) and new Dr said surgery would have made things worse. I only have dry eye which Toyos never said until 7 months & 10 prescriptions later. I am wondering if they are paying to have reviews removed because surely I am not the only one. The Memphis location was MUCH BETTER than Nashville, I was shocked.

Fixed my vision I had lasik with Dr. Toyos. Can’t believe how well I am seeing. Been wearing glasses since I was eight years old. What a miracle.
Dry Eye Issues Dr. Toyos is probably a fine opthalmologist but he is not well versed in treating dry eye. I have been seeing him for years and spending considerable sums on IPL's and various eye drops, all to no avail. My condition only worsened. Finally, I discovered Dry Eye Center of Brentwood. This physician is a dry eye specialist. I have only seen him twice and my condition has improved dramatically because he addresses the ROOT CAUSE of dry eye, which is biofilm. He ensures that the patient is well educated. Only wish that I had gone to the Dry Eye Center of Brentwood years ago. Please go there if you have dry eye because Toyos clinic will not solve your problem, despite their best efforts.
Excellent, years ago he did both of my cataract surgeries and he and his staff could not have been better. Immediately after first surgery; I had good results, could see colors brightly and had not realized my eyes were as bad as they were. I picked the regular lens that Medicare pays for, still would pick these same lenses today.
Be careful. Ask a lot of questions. I had cataract surgery. I was told that if I went with a Toriq lens and paid more, that I’d have good far away vision due to my previous lasik. The staff mis-measured and I was implanted with a close lens instead of a far. They don’t try to get it right. I was told they’d offer me lasik to fix, which I don’t want. I changed doctors and my other eye was done perfectly. Also when I asked for my records they gave me and my new doctor incomplete files. My new doctor said that there is no way they could have picked a lens power with the measurements they gave us. If they did, they guessed. It’s also a flag when you call for the records and they put the doctor in the phone. If you didn’t do anything wrong, then just release the records. A reputable doctor would admit that he or his staff made a mistake, not cover it up. Another thing, I still received the bills. This doctor is in it for the money and trying to do as many as he can in a day. No care for the patient. I only met him on surgery day. That should have been enough to make me not go there, but I’ve always trusted doctors. I don’t anymore. Don’t use this doctor or you’ll risk your eyesight. My right eye is permanently damaged.
There is always a long wait at this clinic. I went in today for a routine follow up, and sat for 45 min after check in. I finally had to leave. This is every time..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
