List of Stephen P. Raffanti's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr. Raffanti's since 2006. This doctor is not only an incredible doctor, but an incredibly caring man as well. The ups and downs I've had through the years have played on me heavily, particularly with all the different issues surrounding my HIV infection. Dr. Raffanti has walked every highway and road with me. He has held my hand when there was nothing more than he could do then to be there for me. My life would have ended years ago had this sweet, kind and gentle man not come into my life. I've had several hospital stays, some good and some scary. He and the staff of the Comprehensive Care Center at Vanderbilt University, of which he is the Medical Director, has ALWAYS been there with love and affection for me. I could write a beautiful novel of the love and care that Dr. Raffanti, along with his staff have given me. I can assure you I am not the easiest patient to get along with, and I take a very active role in my medical care. And there are times, because I am scared, that I can get downright mean. Regardless, this great man's love and affection for me, not only as a patient, but as a fellow human being, has given me hope and the desire to carry on. I could go on for hours on how this man and his staff have changed, not only my life, but me as a person. I've had one other HIV doctor before him, unaffiliated with Vanderbilt University, who I absolutely could not stand and I knew that this other physician looked at me as a insurance payment, than as a man. This all changed when I became a patient at Comprehensive Care Center. Dr. Raffanti is the type of doctor who will spend the time to explain the medications he prescribes, why and how they will affect me. Several years ago I made the decision to do a living will to assign someone to make the final decision on when there is nothing more that can be done for me. I made the decision that Dr. Raffanti, who now knows me well, would have the final say as to when to discontinue care and life support. This is the man that I know will, when the time comes, make the right decision on when my quality of life would no longer be bearable. I trust no one else as much as Dr. Raffanti, to make that final decision for me. I am in the right hands of a caring doctor and staff that will care for me until my life's end, and will be there with me until that last moment. I would have it no other way. If you are looking for a HIV doctor who will always have your back, do what's in your best interest, and be there for you, you should look no further than this incredible man.

I've been going to the CCC clinic since 1995 for various reasons throughout. His front office staff can be and usually is really short, unfriendly, and usually just plain rude but once you get past them his nurses are great and Dr. Raffanti is awesome. Very thorough in the exam, (just make sure you have a list of things you want to discuss with him about any medical conditions, treatments, concerns etc as he's very prompt and quick in his exam but he does takes his time in confirming medications, labs to be taken and/or results from previous appointments, listens and responds appropriately in complete detail. I have gone in to my appointment with several things I had concerns over, had forgotten to take my list so I wasn't able to get the information I was wanting at the time nor every time I've had my list he was able to reply, address and discuss, in detail, all of my questions and concerns. Dr Raffanti is easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable in his field. With medical degrees in both Italy and America, being a professor at Vanderbilt University and in practice for 33 years plus I totally put my trust in his abilities for my medical care. I have seen other physicians in his clinic but I find Dr. Raffanti to be the best in his field

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
