Thankful for the experience gained, but not a good business to work for. Toxic, lack of professionalism, favoritism, no human resource, no place to grow, not valued or appreciated, and the company needs to be shutdown.
DO NOT RECOMMEND
Came to get some help and was told to leave the property because I was not apart of the "group".
I have worked in the mental health field for over 11 years now. I have worked within other agencies and I have found that each agency stands for the same thing: MONEY. However, TMHCA is not like any other agency I know of. TMHCA truly means what it stands for. This company is a peer ran agency, which means that each person has a recovery story of their own and each person knows what its like to be in a crisis. TMHCA is 100% member focused. Management always wants to hear about how the members are and eager to hear recovery stories. The members are always first with TMHCA. Both the CEO and COO are two of the most passionate people I know and not only care about the members but they also care about the staff. All of the upper management truly care about the staff and offer support in every way possible. I have always loved what TMHCA stood for and it was always a goal of mine to be apart of this agency, and once I became apart of this amazing team, I love this company even more. The members absolutely love this agency as well. I love when I go to the conferences and listen to the members share their success stories and how TMHCA has helped them in some way. TMHCA offers a variety of services such as; Peer Intensive Care Specialists, PeerLINK, Peer Support Center, IPS (Individual Placement and Support), advocacy and education. TMHCA offers services throughout Tennessee, unlike other agencies who are only located in certain areas. There is also room for growth in this agency, I was offered a promotion within the first year of being hired on. I know throughout my recovery journey when I was in crisis, I needed support, encouragement and someone who never gave up on me, and TMHCA does this exact thing for the members. And again this is one of the many reasons I love this agency, because they truly understand what the members need. I am a HUGE advocate for mental health and want nothing more than to be able to support my peers. I highly recommend TMHCA for employment if you are passionate about helping others as I am.
This non profit organization does not care about the members they serve. They will not last long because of the way management treats employees. They curse constantly, make suicide jokes, and make inappropriate jokes at your expense. The accountant who put the company in debt is still employed to do payroll. Definite favoritism towards Caucasians and those who enjoy playing tattle tale. They claim to be supportive of each others issues (a requirement to work here is to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder) but are extremely slow paced and cold. They personally told me to NOT speak to the members they serve and accused me of possible relations with a MARRIED colleague. They are bitter because of the turnover and they falsely accuse employees of doing things that are illegal but not write them up, knowing their protocol and policies are going to be updated this year before the beginning of the year audit. I was underpaid by about 6 dollars, and ONLY accepted because I wanted to help people and was stripped out of my position for speaking to members and having suggestions because they are afraid to change. (They have been around since 1988) They do not want you to grow as a person or within the company and will not make it as a company, especially when things come into the light regarding BILLING! Please, do not work here, unless you want to be micromanaged, and unvalued. I was let go due to someone's personal opinion of me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
