List of Promises Behavioral Health's Reviews
Detox daily staff is great but the residential program for addiction is hell. I was called a "lost cause" by my case worker and the house was so understaffed it was chaos.
This place is a complete nightmare. Extremely understaffed and not equipped to handle mental health issues. DO NOT LET ADMISSIONS FOOL YOU! This treatment facility is COMPLETELY about the money, not helping people. I wouldn’t wish this traumatizing experience on my worst enemy! Please if you’re considering the ranch, do your research and read into the reviews. This was the most traumatizing experience I have ever endured and I pray that if you need help, you won’t consider this place as an option.
Far more than I ever expected! The staff is amazing and the tools and resources I have received will help me for the rest of my life. Oh, and Equine Therapy in beautiful Nunnelly, TN - Truly God's Country!
The ranch has helped my family so much. I am so thankful for a facility that not only focuses on addiction, but mental health as a whole. Thank you for being a catalyst in the healing process for ourselves home.
I have been through treatment programs and twelve step programs before. The Ranch helped bring healing, insight and practical life coping skills to bridge the gap between my head and heart. The entire staff from beginning to end is dynamic in every way. I will recommend this program to anyone and everyone that needs help.
To say I got nothing from the experience here would be a lie. Yes I learned multiple CBT, DBT, and several other coping skills and strategies. However, to call this place “understaffed” would be a complete understatement. One doctor for the whole facility, you can see your therapist once a week, and case manager once a week. Absolute joke of a facility in terms of staffing. I’d say 50% of groups are good. Although that is just my personal opinion after applying what I have learned. I find it humorous how all I wanted to do was to process my trauma. How my insurance paid well over $140,000. Yet they did not give me the option to do so. With that kind of income from one person alone, it is completely unacceptable and inexcusable to offer such little treatment. If you are looking for a place to treat depression and anxiety, I do believe this place will somewhat benefit you. However, if you are looking for treatment for ptsd and trauma, I’d steer very far away from this place. Even if you are looking for treatment for depression and anxiety, as said before, the volume of staffing here is pathetic. Don’t expect to get much help within your first 30 days. Don’t expect to sit down with a doctor and have a reasonable discussion about medication. This place is doing even worse off because of how the recent storm impacted them. On top of that COVID is quite the problem in the local area. I’m sure if this place did not endure such misfortune with COVID and the flood, they could offer a superior level of care. So I will give them some slight slack with that in mind. Regardless, for the amount of currency my insurance paid, it is almost impossible to not find a better treatment center for the price. I came here to get help. I didn’t come to waste almost two months of my time in a foreign state. I came here to process my trauma. I only received trauma-based therapy 1 time the entire 46 days I was there. I would not send my child to this facility. Please don’t waste your time coming here or set the expectations to be even remotely decent.
The Ranch literally saved my life. 10/10 recommend 😊
Should have read the reviews before going, I was desperate for help, this place just added on to my trauma
This place is DANGEROUS. They forced an employee to work WITH COVID. Yes. You read that rights Management told him to just wear a mask and not tell anyone. Because of this I brought covid home to my family and co-workers. Been miserable for weeks. I’ve had the vaccine and still got it from constantly being in the presence of someone who tested positive for covid. This place is irresponsible. The infected employee was literally around myself and others for 12 hour shifts. I didn’t find out he was positive until I was leaving or I would have left. All they care about is money. DONT GO THERE
I sent my husband there and they put him in a house with men who has SERIOUS mental illnesses. My husband went for PTSD from the war. My husband barely slept at night while he was at the ranch. Another patient threatened to kill him and all the others,. Yet he was allowed to stay. My husband did not feel safe. People would cut themselves and try to kill themselves daily. Always an outburst from others .He came home with even more PTSD from worrying about being killed in his sleep. He feels bad for the other patients but he went there for help with himself; not to live in a madhouse. Apparently there are homeless people living in the Forrest around them. Wanting food. My husband said it was creepy. As a US marine to be “freaked out” it has to be bad.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
