List of David Long's Reviews
This man saved my life. Dr. Long saved me from a near-fatal case of Necrotizing Faciitis in my neck. Without his skill & knowledge, I'd be gone.
A colleague highly recommended Dr. Long having previously had surgery performed by him. In addition to his training and expertise, I found him to be personable, engaging, patient, thorough (describing options and trade offs) and calming. When I awoke after surgery I asked if it had already been done. One week post I am doing quite well and have only good expectations for a full recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Long.
He came into the examination room carrying a folder. I extended my hand to shake his but he ignored my hand and didn't shake it. He opened the file and told me he didn't have time to review it before he saw me so we'd do it together. As he looked at the file in front of him, he abruptly closed it and said he wasn't doing surgery and opened the door to leave. I was shocked, and said in a pretty loud voice, "WHAT!". He came back in, questioned one of the previous surgeries and disputed why I had it. I explained why and that it saved my life, he arrogantly showed disbelief. I asked him why he felt that way and he wouldn't answer. He then realized while going thru the folder that he did not have all of the results of test performed that led me to his office. He left and came back with a thicker file. He then took his stethoscope and listened to both carotid arteries and both ankles. I asked him what he learned from that and said he wasn't answering any questions. He then asked how I ended up having tests for the carotid arteries and I said it was to get to why I had ringing in my right ear and at times a humming in my head. I then said that I had a hernia that I wanted to have taken care of but the ringing in my ears was causing me more concern. He had me lay down on the examining table, then took my right hand and told me to make my right index finger tight and then he forced it into my hernia. I had a nail on that finger that was about 1/4" long and he pushed it hard until I felt that nail hit something at the far back of where he was pushing. That I thought was very strange as I had seen a few doctors about that hernia and no one did anything like that. When I sat up, he then, and for the life of me have no idea why he did this, took his index finger, straightened it out and pushed it into the inside of my left knee. I did a yelp with pain as I had just had a cortisone shot in it the day before for bursitis. He asked with a mocking type voice, why I yelled. I told him about the bursitis and his reply, with and not so sincere voice, was "sorry". What he did to the knee has caused me more problems that were taken care of the day before but now I have more pain and more problems with my leg. He then set me up to have a scan a week or so later and to see him after that. I was so upset with that visit that I threw up that night when I got home. I cancelled the scan. There is no way I can trust a doctor who treated me like that.
Terrible! This man is cruel and completely lacking any compassion. My poor mother just had surgery and he sent her home without any medication. NONE of the nurses could believe it. She has lived in excruciating pain over the last several days. I would NOT recommend him to do my surgery on a my dog.
WOW FANTASTIC !!! I will use Dr. Long again if needed, took wonderful care of me.
Dr. Long performed gallbladder surgery on me. I had as he called it, "a difficult gallbladder." I fell fortunate that he was my surgeon and he will be doing a right carotid surgery in the next few days. I very highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
