I saw him twice during my pregnancy, and his manners where extremely awful, he was just making reference to my weight in an insensitive way. I have never wanted to slap a doctor into a wall the way I wanted to slap him.

Dr Metcalf is not someone who will leave you with warm fuzzies when he leaves the room, BUT when I go to the doctor, I want someone who will sit down (not act like they are in a hurry to leave), will be professional and thorough. He does all of that in spaded. I have had several issues and I never feel pushed to do expensive treatments. It is always my choice (if applicable). He knows me and my history and is always KIND if not overly friendly. Very good doctor!

Terrible. Insensitive. Incompassionate. Pompous. Unprofessional. Rude.Obnoxious. Unkind. Unsymphathetic. Uncaring. Cold. Male-chauvinistic pig. *Keep in mind: if you are a patient where he practices you run the risk of seeing him at some point. If pregnant and something goes wrong, THIS IS THE LAST PERSON YOU WANT!! Heonly gets 1 star because the system wouldnt accept that I felt like he didnt deserve ANY!

While Dr. Metcalf is very knowledgeable, the issues I have with him concern his bedside manner. I saw him several times during my pregnancy and every single time I saw him, he made a point to remind me that I'm a "big girl" and "only getting bigger". I saw several different doctors during my pregnancy and he is the only one who made a reference to my weight without it concerning my pregnancy. For the record, I only gained 16 lbs during my pregnancy.
