List of David Winters's Reviews
Always cares for the patient. Always
Dr. Winters has been my doctor over 20 years. He always takes plenty of time and explains things well. One thing I have always appreciated is if there is a problem and I have choices, he tells me what they are. If not, he lets you know that right away. When I need a referral, he sends me to the best. He makes sure I am up to date with any tests or shots I need. Never a problem scheduling. And it’s nice knowing his family is very important to him. He keeps current pictures around. He used to go to Africa every Christmas to offer medical care, and not a lot of doctors do that. He’s the best.
He's been my doctor for over thirty years, even though he's not very close to my work. Dr. Winters is an excellent doctor with a no-nonsense attitude, tons of medical knowledge and enough time spent as a volunteer doctor in Africa to really put health issues into proper perspective. He always listens closely and has a pretty good idea of what needs further discussion or investigation due to his experience and knowledge. Not sure if he's taking new patients but if so, I highly recommend him. On the other hand, if you value your doctor's ability to protect your feelings more than your doctor's ability to protect your health, you may want to look elsewhere. He's never been less than friendly to me but he has a direct, no-nonsense, to the point manner which apparently rubs some people the wrong way. Personally I like it and enjoy running into him outside the office - he's a great guy and a great doctor. I don't mind waiting, he always gives me whatever time I need without rushing.
He is the best Doctor. He is very involved in your care. I have been his patient for almost 20 years
Very down to earth and practical. Discusses issues in terms you can understand. A great Doctor and a good guy!
I went to Dr. Winters because of good reviews and I was new in town but later regretted my decision after learning more about him. After asking another one of my doctors for a referral he mentioned a doctor he highly recommended in the same office as Dr. Winters. So I tried to get an appointment. I was not only not allowed to see the doctor I was referred to but given the reason that " we don't change doctors in THIS office" . So basically they control your healthcare choices and you have no control of who you would choose has your healthcare provider!
This doctor was totally unprofessional! My daughter called and needed advice he was extremely rude, she has never dealt with this doctor but loves the other physicians at the practice. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.
This dr was on call when I called in concerned over accidentally taking 2 blood pressure pills. He laughed and said “well, it’s too late to vomit them now. You did it to yourself.” He went on to tell me I could definitely die. He was very rude and obviously ignorant as well. The ER dr confirmed his ignorance. I would NEVER recommend him
Started seeing Dr. David when he first opened office in Ringgold. I would never even think about changing.
- bedside manners, time spent, or appropriate follow up are below par - does not remember your specific complaints & ailments are or what your medical history looks like - just focused on entering an extensive list of questions and responses into his PC - office problems: incorrect allocation of ‘reason for visit’, incorrect billing, not returning phone calls - problems with records: nurses are allowed to update and alter patient files without supervision or an appropriate verification/approval

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
