Zero chance of recommending him.
I had a surgery Summer 2018 whereas they found a stomach tumor and removed it. They referred me to Dr. Kerns to followup just in case they missed anything. A scan showed something and in Dr. Kerns words assumed it was cancer still left. He immediately put me on Gleevec a horrible pill with major side affects. My monthly visits made me question their experience so I went to Emory in Atlanta for a 2nd opinion. Thank God I did. It wasnt cancer but a hematoma or blood clots left from the surgery that had almost already dissipated on its own. They then immediately sent me for an EGD scope down mouth to stomach where it was confirmed a small clot removed with no cancer markers showing Why didnt Kerns know or do that? Go to a major facility like Emory or Vanderbilt for anything Cancer
Not happy with my GIST stomach tumor diagnosis. I had a prior surgeon that removed it all followup with Dr. Kerns where it was assumed that a hematoma or clot from surgery was cancer when not. Should have waited and performed an EDG or to see if body would absorb instead of putting me on that horrible Gleevec medication. Thanks God I went to Emory in Atlanta for correct diagnosis
Takes the time to listen to his patients and you feel he genuinely cares. We need more doctors like him.
Let me preface this review with the note that Ive never left a bad review for a physician . Ive had the same PCP all of my adult life and see the same Gyn that delivered both of my children. Dr. Kerns would not take the time to listen to my concerns and told me several times to contact my PCP about my health concerns that had just surfaced since my cancer diagnosis. After I finally realized I was not getting any help I turned to my Gyn who did lab work and helped me realize that I had been prescribed a treatment to be used for breast cancer in post menopausal patients. I trusted him and he dropped the ball.
Prompt and kind staff. They really care.
Dr. Kerns is an amazing physician He has treated my father four times now with his recurring lymphoma. I wouldnt want anyone else to treat my dad. He is wise considerate and caring I doubt there is a better oncologist in this area
I have been a patient of Dr. Kerns since 2001. He saw me the first time and asked me to go home and think of any questions about my diagnosis. I returned and he sent me to Vanderbilt for another opinion. I have always felt very happy with Dr. Kerns and his staff. He listens and is compassionate.
They treat you like family.
Dr Kerns sees me for CML. He is down to earth and will explain anything that you want to ask about. The staff there is the best

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
