List of Carol Parks's Reviews
Dr. Parks diagnosed my problem quickly and explained my options in a straight forward easy to understand way. I trust her and I am very fortunate that she was available to see me when I was a long way from home and very sick. I'm happy to know she is at Smoky Mountain Urgent Care.I visit the Gatlinberg area every fall and if I ever need medical attention again while I'm there, I'll know exactly where to go.
This is an account of my first and last visit to see Dr. Parks. Waiting room trip was not quick but not long considering I was a new patient. The nurse was kind and took down all my symptom information, but did not take my temperature or weight. The nurse had me take the appropriate lab test for my illness. This illness have had more than 100 in my life, so this is pretty routine to me. The nurse directed me to a patient room to wait for the doctor. I had been taking medication for my recurrent infection, which I told the nurse. I was almost out of my medication to treat my infection. She came in, listened to my lungs, told me I did not have an infection ( which I know I did) and would not prescribe an antibiotic. The only cure for this type of infection is strong antibiotics. My infection this time had progressed quicker than most. So I felt there was some urgency, my condition could lead to hospitalization. Also taking antibiotics can mask an infection and cause a false negative. She refused to give me any treatment for my infection. My husband called to talk to her, she told him I was "cured" and that " I had taken a butload of antibiotics"! She had no idea what I had taken because she did not talk to me about it! I had actually taken less than the label prescribed! She could not know her patient because she refused too be a good doctor. I wonder if she remembers the Hippocratic Oath!
Dr. Parks spent time with me and actually listened. I really appreciate how she looks after her patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
