Christopher Palmer's Online Review Report Card

I went to Dr. Palmers office for a check up early this year. I told him I was concerned about my health because I have a family history of cancer. My mother had just passed in 2020 from cancer and I was told by my family to ask for a colonoscopy and a prostate exam since these are important for males over 40. He seemed to just brush off everything I said and asked where I worked and how I heard of him. Which I thought was a weird question to ask since it has nothing to do with my health. Now that I look back I think he was profiling me. He told me these test are not covered by my insurance. He then asked me what else I need. I told him I want my yearly checkup and physical covered by my insurance. After the lab work(blood test) was done I got a bill for over 700 dollars. He had ordered test not covered by my insurance and overcharged me. Why would you order test not covered by my insurance without letting me know? These other things I asked for were "not covered" then why order test that is also not covered by my insurance? It really doesn't make sense and it feels he was charging my insurance and myself(double charging)for something I never wanted or asked for. I went to the office to talk to the office manager Kim and she listened to me and seemed to help but i keep on getting the bill. I kept getting told its the billing, then I call billing and they tell me they can't do anything unless the office changes the codes. I called my insurance provider and they understood my problem and helped me talk to these people. However I'm still getting the bill and I'm still getting the run around. Horrible experience for care and just a dishonest practice in my opinion

Dr Palmer is literally our whole family Dr. The ER missed my broken back and 5 thousand other problems. But dr Palmer got me in for an MRI and found the problem. He’s a wonderful dr and truly cares about his patients. Can not express enough, my appreciation of his kindness and care.

My mother went in for an appointment and the doctor was extremely rude. He basically said he didn’t have the time to listen to her about the issues with her medications cause he had other patients to see. She will find a different family physician.

I find dr. Christopher Palmer to be very thorough and concerned. I've been going there now a little over two years and after having seen many doctors in the Sevierville leave them over the years dr. Palmer, in my book rates the highest Stars!!

He is my doctor, and I think he's really good. Never had any issues. He's always been very attentive when I've had a visit.

The person at the front desk was kind, the nurse who took be back was quiet, non interested and maybe spent 5 minutes on my history as a new pt. The doctor came in and told me that whatever the chiropractor had said based on my x-rays, that it probably was not that extreme of a problem because they make things worse than they really are. I thought that was pretty unprofessional to immediately speak about someone he did not know in another health care profession. Then he maybe spoke with me for 10 minutes or less, barely assessed my back pain and told me if I was not interested in surgery I could do some physical therapy or he would schedule an MRI and we could see what it showed. He really seemed like he could care less honestly. Then I receive a 348$ bill for this 10 minute visit. Very disappointing. So I basically paid for nothing because I would never let this man treat me.

Be aware of doctor Palmer and his nurse. They don’t care about their patients! Called them different times with awful pain and infection and never got appointment or help. They always send you to someone else. Go to ER, go to your OBGYN, go to urgent care, go go go, we are pretty booked and so on. They never even apologize for not responding on left voicemails or being unhelpful!!! Spend your money with other caring doctors!

He has a great bedside manner and addresses all your concerns I recommended all my family members to him

I like Dr. Palmer. He listens to his patients, is concerned about our current conditions and is very approachable. He is young and knows modern up to date medicine. He is very thorough in his history and physical examination, and reviews medications . He will prescribe tests as needed . He always asks if we have an adequate supply of medications. He also spends a lot of time with his patient and never leaves you waiting in the exam room for long periods. I would certainly recommend Dr. Palmer , he is a really nice guy.

I went to Dr. Palmer in search of a new PCP after my insurance changed. I had recently been experiencing some symptoms that were causing major issues in my life. Extreme fatigue, rapid weight gain, painful cystic acne, sudden hair growth in unwanted places, and pain in my neck (in the thyroid region) that made it difficult to swallow. Dr. Palmer told me the pain in my neck was "probably a pulled muscle", which is a level of diagnostics I've only seen at family reunions when my aunts get together. He then spent the entirety of the remaining appointment informing me that I'm getting old and should probably squeeze out a couple kids before my ovaries shrivel any further, and trying to pressure me into gastric bypass surgery. I immediately shot that down and asked instead about a dietitian referral and exercise plan. I'm overweight, which can cause health problems, I get it. But I refuse to have surgery. Nope, I should have gastric bypass, even though I have no co-morbidities and my weight is not even in the range recommended by the Bariatric Association. I left his office with no answers, feeling fat and old, my only prize a xeroxed copy of THREE bariatric surgeons and their contact info. I suffered with these symptoms for another 6 months before I was finally able to see someone else. I saw a Nurse Practitioner at a different office on Wednesday. In less than 48 hours I had a diagnosis, two prescriptions, an action plan, and a follow up appointment scheduled. The worst part, though? I'm STILL making payments for Dr. Palmer's Guide to Ignoring Your Patients. If you're thinking of going to Dr. Palmer because of some concerning symptoms, take my advice: you're better off lighting your money on fire in the backyard. You'll get the same NOTHING result, but you'll still have your self-esteem intact. :D
