Dr. Evans is so thorough and caring. She’s the only doctor who has ever called me in the evening to say “I was thinking about your child, and I have an idea what may help better...” I was so impressed that she was thinking about her patients when they aren’t even in the office. We love and trust her.

Dr Evans provides the community with with a tremendous service. She has the highest level of training and experience and chooses to live in a small community and serve patients there. Both the of my children have had excellent care ages 8-18. She has helped with general pediatric care, troubling anxiety and an orthopedic problem. Thank you Dr Evans!

My 14 year old active and sports crazed son had spent a summer playing tennis, golf, baseball and running. I was mildly alarmed but not panicked when he came home one day with a swollen and tender knee. I took him to see Dr. Evans just to make sure everything was alright. She wisely added extra testing to what might have been a diagnoses of overuse. Thank goodness for that. He was soon diagnosed with a more rare and worrisome orthopedic problem. We were referred to Vanderbilt orthopedics with Dr. Evans personal call to that department where she clearly had a positive working relationship. We were seen within a week and the original diagnoses made with an x-ray and her wide ranging knowledge was quickly confirmed. Although Vanderbilt became the lead on his orthopedic problem, DR Evans also followed up with us to help deal with the social and emotional issues arising in young athletes who are restricted from play. Needless to say that may have been an even more difficult task! So if you are looking for a doctor who can provide superior general care for your child as well as someone who can carefully evaluate seemingly benign problems that turn out to be much more, you would be fortunate to see Dr. Evans who trained in the finest institutions but chooses to care for families in a small town.

I have known Dr. Evans for almost 17 years. She has treated my sons their entire lives. She is very caring and strives to provide the best care possible to her patients. She has always been willing to take the time to answer questions. Proud to have put my kids care in the hands of an amazing and caring individual. Thank you to the staff as well. They have always tried to assist and do a remarkable job.

Dr. Amy has cared for my two sons from infancy to adulthood with a calm, yet careful, attention to their lives. And she cared for me as I learned how to care for my children. She’s has dealt with our family’s broken bones, ear infections, and allergies. More importantly, she has a broad knowledge of pediatric medicine, keeping appraised of new developments, and is willing to refer to specialists when she sees a condition that needs greater expertise. We are lucky to have her on the mountain.

She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough. In a small rural community, her office may be stressed by the number of patients she sees, but we never felt rushed or hurried by her. She listened carefully to my children, as well as me, and gave us outstanding care.

I was able to see firsthand the ability for Dr. Evans to diagnose a more rare orthopedic problem with my son's knee. She listened closely, did all the necessary tests, diagnosed his problem and then referred us to the best pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Vanderbilt. Her care did not stop there. She saw my son back for follow up and helped him to deal with the emotional fall out of the physical restrictions he had on his athletics. Sewanee is lucky to have her world class training and knowledge.

Dr. Evans was my children's pediatrician in the adolescent stages of their development. It is so rare to find a pediatric physician who has such a vast knowledge in that arena and to find an amazingly well trained and diligent caregiver in a small town was nothing short of a miracle. Despite living in a small town, Dr. Evans remains very well connected to the highest level of referral base at Vanderbilt Hospital system. She is thorough to a fault and knows exactly when to refer. She's brilliant!

Dr. Evans has cared for my two daughters for the past 3 years, and I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone needing medical care for their children. She is the most professional, knowledgeable, thorough, respectful, and attentive pediatrician we have ever had. Her interest in my kids as individuals is evident in every visit, and she treats them as such. We are very impressed with her!
