Love this place and people, eventhough it IS a Doctor's office.
My insurance changed so I tried to schedule a colonoscopy for both my wife and myself with this office as they were in network. When I called I was told to transfer our records to their office and they would call us. After two months I called and the lady that answered apologized that it fell through the cracks. As she was scheduling my wife’s appointment she suddenly stopped and said I’m sorry but your wife’s account is flagged and we can’t see her. She couldn’t give me a reason why but offered for the office manager to call me and explain. Later the same day the office manager did call but didn’t know why the account was flagged but did say that my wife was seen there before and because she changed gastroenterologist that they could no longer see her. Seriously, we changed because our insurance changed. That’s your excuse? We are 60 years old and have never had a doctor’s staff or doctor refuse to see us. Shame on you.
A bit about why we were at Dr. Montemuro’s office today. My wife and I we’re accompanying her 89 yr. old mother which has been having stomach pains. Office staff was very rude and unprofessional. They started off with my wife when she went to the receptionist to check her mother in, first thing that was said from the receptionist was your going to have to pull that mask up over your nose which she did. My wife also told the receptionist that she would like to tell her how she felt about wearing mask but it would not be nice, that conversation was at the receptionist window which no one else heard. Bottom line is that they did not refuse to see my mother in law but they would not let me or my wife accompany her back to see the physician. They said they felt threatened by us???? They knew they could not refuse to see her and they recognize that my mother in law needed to have someone with her but refused to let my wife or me accompany her. So even though they said that they would see her they really wouldn’t because they knew we would not let her go in without one of us with her. Needless to say we are contacting her primary care doctor for recommendations on a new Gastroenterologist. My wife and I will also be changing because Dr. Montemuro WAS our Dr. also. I had to rate one star just to be able to post my review , if I could it would have been minus one star.
This is in response to a post recently made by David Sanders. I was in the waiting room during this encounter. The statements made are not accurate. In no way was the staff rude or unprofessional. It's clearly posted as you walk in the professional building that masks are to be worn at all times. It also states this as you walk in the Dr. Montemuro's clinic and also posted at the window when checking in. The receptionist kindly asked the lady to pull her mask up because she only had it covering her mouth. She said, "I can't breathe with this mask on". The receptionist was empathic and replied, "I know, it is difficult for all of us". The lady started arguing with the receptionist about the masks and would not pull it over her nose. The receptionist was at no point unprofessional about asking her to pull her mask up. No one in the office raised their voice and no one said anything derogatory to the wife when she checked in her mother. This couple was simply upset about having to wear their masks covering their mouths AND nose. They were rude to the office staff. I heard them calling the front staff inappropriate names as they were walking back to their seats. They were talking loudly in the waiting about the staff. Because of this behavior it was the NP's decision to only see the patient not the couple who brought her in. Every time I visit this clinic, I am always greeted with professionalism and kindness.
The staff were prompt and friendly. The nurse was as well. Dr Montemuro was professional and thorough. He listened, addressed my concerns and provided information to help my issue. I did not feel rushed at all. He was also warm and friendly. I would recommend him to others. My time in the waiting room was reasonable. I saw the doctor within 15 minutes of entering the exam room.
Five stars only because he figured out my issue that took years! In my opinion, he is pretty rude/cut to the chase but I respect his knowledge. Do not go here if you are easily offended. He wants you to tell him your problem and he will tell you what he really thinks!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
