Joshua M Hixson's Online Review Report Card

I love Dr. Hixson and his entire staff! I have been seeing Dr. Hixson for about 6 years now, and both of my parents see him as well. The front desk staff are always helpful and courteous. I love the nurses that work with the doctor as well. Everyone always treats me with compassion and kindness and I always leave the office feeling like I have been heard and that whatever issue I have brought to them has been taken care of with the highest standard of care.

Dr. Hixson has been my families Practitioner for quite some time...unfortunately, at this point, that's no longer the case for myself. So, you call in to schedule an appt...but if his assistant doesn't deem your issue enough of a worry to see the Doc, they simply are rude and hang up the phone...why is it an assistants duty to play God here? Sure, if it's an emergency, there's an emergency room...however, some people can't afford that bill even with insurance for something that is potentially a compound issue. That said, IF it weren't for his assitants, Dr. Hixson himself deserves a 5 star review, however his team at the front desk deserves a -5 for negligence to the people, which in a medical profession is a fire able offense.

I never write reviews, but this Dr. is more focused on his wallet than taking care of his patients. Be Aware. I have had two occasions were the Dr. needed to see me when things could have been done without an office visit. I believe this Dr. is more concerned about getting office visits rather than actually listening to the patient and their history. I also went into the Stone crest patient portal and the office had deleted all of my info. If you call them out they will shut you down. I would encourage everyone to be aware of this Dr. and this office. Again, I don't leave reviews, and I hate to throw a group of people under the bus. But this office has literally never looked after my personal needs. I don't get sick often and vary rarely go to the Dr. so when I see a physician acting egregiously with such arrogance i think it should be noted. The Sleep Apnea that I was diagnosed with will go untreated because this Dr. wouldn't write a simple prescription for plastic equipment. He had all of my info and history and still refused, he wanted me to drive 30 miles to see him. Be aware.

Have you ever wasted your day? I just did and the staff at Dr.Hixson's office could have cared less! I spent the day before filling out all the proper paperwork for a new patient necessary and went ONLINE and made an appointment, arrived 30min. early to find out that none of the doctors in that office were taking new patient's! UNBELIEVABLE! Here's an idea! Go on your WEBSITE and let the public know that you're not taking new patient's! I mean come on people its 2018 for heavens sake! So i dont know how good or bad the doctors are in this office all i do know from experience is that they need to work on their management skills...

I've went to him for years. Very conservative prescribing and very well read.

Dr. Hixson is a wonderful physician. He is so knowledgeable and discusses and explains your medical issues so well. He is very personable and always takes the proper time with you during your visit. We trust him with out entire family’s care and have done so nearly since his start!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hixson's for 10 years. All three of my children, my husband, and my extended family are also his patients. From newborn up, he has never misdiagnosed any of us, he's thoughtful and always remembers small details, and he purposefully doesn't accept too many patients to ensure he can adequately take care of his existing patients. I have recommended Dr. Hixson countless times and am so thankful to be his patient.

Dr. Hixson is a great doctor in my personal opinion. I have seen way too many doctors in my short life, about 50; and he has been the best general/family doctor I have seen. He is super nice and very considerate. Most importantly, he listens to his patients and tries to work his magic in the best possible way.Once you have been established as a patient, personally, I can schedule a visit within the week. Also, they will take walk-ins, IF you are already a patient.*** If you are a new patient, it will take a couple weeks to schedule a visit because he is a GOOD doctor. But once that first visit has passed, you can get in nearly anytime you request (or that's how it is for me. I don't ask for any ridiculous times though)

Dr. Hixson has taken exceptional care of both of my parents. He has the best chairside manner I have ever seen. He answers all of our questions. His staff is always very kind.
