Rena Azar's Online Review Report Card

My PCP referred me to Dr. Azar. I immediately began researching her credentials, reading her website as well as her reviews. I was extremely impressed. My husband read them as well and said, "What's the catch?" Meaning, of course, that she was too good to be true. I followed up with my visit and told Dr. Azar what my husband said and her response was: "Well, if you find there to be a catch then you let me know and we'll correct it." During my appointment she was thorough and explained issues in terms which I could understand. She even recorded our conversation concerning the problems and what we'd discussed. She sent me this recording, via her personal cell phone, so I could play it for my husband. Along with the recording there were videos for me to watch concerning the surgery prep as well as aftercare, following surgery. I was also told that I was free to call her if I had any problems or concerns regarding the upcoming surgery. Now, how many of you reading this have ever been given your physician's cell number to call if you have questions? One quality which makes her stand heads above other doctors is the fact that she listens and spends time with you. She's not standing with her hand on the doorknob in an attempt to rush off to another patient. Fast forward to my major surgery (4 procedures) on December 15th. The morning following the surgery Dr. Azar was there at 6 AM. I told her the pain medication was working but was wearing off too soon. She said she'd put in the system to double the amount the nurses were giving me. An hour later my pain was ramping up and I asked the nurse about the increase. She said Dr. Azar hadn't entered it into the system yet. Therefore, I texted Dr. Azar & told her the situation and this was her response, 4 MINUTES later: I have instructed them to bring now. Sorry had an emergency consult that got me sidetracked. They will be right there with relief. As I was reading her text, Jenn (my fabulous RN) came rushing in my room with it. Let me also add that the 2 nurses and 1 tech who took care of me all said, "I love Dr. Azar." They each told a story of her impact on their lives. Yes, there are many brilliant surgeons. However, it's rare when they are humble, attentive, compassionate and kind like Dr. Azar. I'd also like to reiterate what other reviewers have said regarding her office staff. They are all absolutely wonderful - kind, cheerful, knowledgeable and respectful. Dr. Azar, her staff and hospital nurses are like a brief bit of utopia here on earth. I'm very grateful and wish our entire U.S. health system could be half as good as the operation she runs. Thank you, Dr. Azar. Vicki Suttle

I have learned so much from Dr. Azar, she is wonderful and thorough in her care.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Azar and her staff. She is phenomenal! When nobody else will listen she will. And she will find and fix the problem. She is kind and understanding. And has a God given talent and bedside manner. I also see Kristen the nurse practitioner and she is without a doubt just like Dr. Azar. She listens she cares and she doesn’t rush you. These two ladies have changed my life with their willingness to hear me and help me. There is none any better anywhere! That I’m sure of!

2 hour wait time. No respect for patients time. At. All. I won’t be back.

I've been seen by 2 of the NPs (Deb and Christy) who are outstanding! They listen and give a great course of action. Today, I was seen by Dr.Azar and I am completely impressed!! I've been seen by military docs for the last 20 years (husband is retired Army) and its been not a good experience. But Dr.Azar is SO vastly different! She is very kind, funny and easy to understand when explaining medical things. She respected and supported my decisions and is helping me in every way♡ Thank you Dr.Azar and the entire team! P.s.- the health tracker app is awesome too!

I saw Kristen Flake, NP today. I’ve managed to avoid going to the gyno for 23 years but needed to get a Paraguard IUD. They kindly fit me in their schedule last minute. I was a HOT mess upon arriving. I made the mistake of listening to internet hysteria. It was bad. I dont remember a word I said, I was audibly sobbing, shaking, and probably the worst patient they’ve ever had. My fear totally took hold of me. She had the IUD in in the blink of an eye and I hardly felt anything. Everyone there was very professional and helpful despite my high maintenance hysteria. Highly recommend this group of ladies.

I have been going.to Dr Azar about a year. She listens and determines what needs to be done. She was great when I had surgery in December 2020. Her nurse practitioner is just as caring and ready to help as well as her entire staff. All.of her staff is very knowledgeable in their job. They all truly care about the patient. I would recommend Dr Azar as well as her staff.

I was sent to Dr. Azar by my urologist because she had recommended that I may have to have surgery, and Dr. Azar was the one that she had recommended to me. I made my first appointment. Dr. Azar and staff did more tests over several visits. She sat down with me and explained that she needed to do a complete bladder reconstruction for me. I had several things going on. We scheduled my surgery, and I went into surgery this past June 2020. Dr. Azar saw me after the surgery, and told me that I would have a short stay in the hospital. I had quite a few stitches (100), and during my stay in the hospital, Dr. Azar would call the nurses all during the night to check on my welfare. Needless to say, after I went home, Dr. Azar's personnel kept calling me to check on my progress. I never felt so cared for by an attending physician before. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this wonderful doctor on return visits. Today, I am doing extraordinary. Thank you, Dr. Azar, for your competence, care and concern for me. It was outstanding!

Dr Azar is great but her staff is terrible. No one EVER answers phone and no one EVER returns calls. Finally just quit trying. I would rather die if gynecological issues than deal with her staff. Good luck if you need to speak to someone. A good doctor with a bad staff is pointless.
