List of Philip R. Harrelson's Reviews
Yesterday Dr. Harrelson saved my life. I presented at his clinic with what I believed was a colon problem which I have had in the past. I am 83 years old and yet he persisted in testing me for appendicitis, which usually only affects people under 30. Without thinking about my advanced age which would have caused some doctors not to believe I had appendicitis, he ordered both an Xray and CT scan with contrast and proved indeed I had acute appendicitis. While hospitalized through the emergency room at VUMC, I was told by a young nurse that he had a ruptured appendicitis because of doctor not correctly diagnosing him. His ruptured and he spent two weeks in the hospital with sepsis and was ill for a very long time. Imagine if I had had a rupture and sepsis---would have been a death sentence. I owe my life to this wonderful, caring man who went the extra mile. He literally saved my life. I am so grateful for his exemplar attention to my care.
Dr. Harrelson is one of the worst doctors I have been to. I went in with pain back in 2019 and he made fun of what I was telling him. I followed up with a different doctor and he agreed with me on what I was telling him and treated me with the necessary treatment. Not sure if he is still around but never again.

Wish there was a 0 star option. The customer care took a horrible dive in the last year. After refusing to send in a month supply of an antidepressant yes the fault is on us for not noticing the refills were out making us call back and forth to see if the pharmacy would “spot us” they sent in a script for 5 pills which cost $4 to fill and scheduled an appointment 5 days out to come in be checked and get a new script for the next year. Arrive to the appointment today and THE DOCTOR ISNT THERE so they refuse to write a script refill. Forget that work had to accommodate the schedule shift to make this appointment happen but now another one has to be made next week when the doctor is actually there? Miss us on that new physician it is. Get it together and quit trying to make money on multiple unnecessary appointments ✌️

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
