Very rude receptionist.. And asked me twice to see a midwife street her telling me Im high risk.A midwife isnt qualified for that...and the receptionist tried to argue that they are qualified for high risk..yet anyone with common sense knows thats a lieSo glad i didnt continue care through them..please find a better option ladies
I started seeing Dr. Barton a couple of years ago and she seemed really nice. After a couple of unnecessary surgeries and failed diagnoses I still saw her because in this town if you want a female obgyn youre severely limited. Her nurse Keisha is the rudest person Ive ever spoken to that works in health care. I guess in this town there arent a lot of employment options for women so they go into nursing. I had vowed not to go back and to find a new obgyn. I had an emergency unfortunately before I could find someone else and had to call her. They do not care about their patients at all. The level of care in general in Tullahoma is poor but Dr. Barton and her practice have to take the cake. If your knowledge and experience is limited to prescribing birth control poorly at that and monitoring pregnancies just say that during the first visit rather than act like you have any expertise in more complex womens disorders. She can do a pap smear though if thats all you need.
I was referred to Dr. Barton and when we first met her she was so good. Easy to talk to answered questions and took time to talk during our visits. This was our first child and I was advanced maternal age. It was during or around the third trimester that things started to change with her. She was not as detailed and was dismissive. Her bedside manner started to falter. When I was 37 weeks along I went in for a usual check up. During this appointment my blood pressure was not going down...and they checked it more than once. We were told to go to the hospital for monitoring. So we went up to Labor and Delivery at Harton. Once there the blood pressure issue was persistent so they admitted me and then eventually started Pitocin. We were unaware coming from the doctors office that anything like this MIGHT even take place. So I went from a normal appointment to being in the hospital. Dr. Barton came in around the time I was to start pushing. And then immediately after having our son she disappeared. A few hours later I was losing a lot of blood but the nurses didnt know where it was coming from. I was moved to another room and was then given blood. But that too went out. I needed more blood. Dr. Barton evidentially didnt tell the nurses that I had a hematoma a very bad bruise. By the evening the day after having our son the doctor on call Dr. Bennett came in to see about giving me a DNC. An ultrasound had been completed that showed what they thought was material left over in my uterus. I was rushed to surgery and Dr. Bennett discovered the hematoma. It was not that I needed a DNC after all. He called Dr. Barton and asked her if she knew about this. She thought she had fixed it. So Dr. Bennett completed fixing what Dr. Barton was supposed to have done. I ended up spending over 24 hours in the CCU department before being moved back down to Labor and Delivery. Dr. Barton came in while I was in CCU to check me. And then I remember her being in my room in Labor and Delivery at the end of the ordeal. I was released after being in the hospital for over 4 days several units of blood and plasma. And this was all because Dr. Barton didnt communicate. Seems her own agenda was more important than to make sure about the condition she left me with on that Friday night after I had our baby. No I dont recommend her. I am left now with doubts as to her true doctor knowledge and abilities. After being released I have not and will not return to Dr. Barton.
I had an appointment at 830 Am and due to unforeseen circumstances I was running late and I called the office at 827 am and talked to an on call person and she stated the office was closed so I left a message with her that I was running late and was making sure I could still come. I drove from my Winchester home which is approximately 30 min away from the office to be seen today. Not only that I had to miss a day of school to only be turned down and was told I could not be seen today. Not only that the receptionist was hateful rude and disrespectful and only wanted to push the issue that I needed to reschedule when I was at least nice enough to call and inform the office I was running late. If I couldn’t be seen the least someone could have done is called me back and said not to come. Although I’ve been seeing Dr Barton for many years now since she first started practicing in Tullahoma and I’ve always liked her but it’s time to change doctors if the office staff has no respect.
The office crew was so mean to me an my daughter we will never go back there.
Dismissive to patients in their concerns seeks to treat temporarily not to solve the underlying issue.
Best doctor
Found out I was pregnant and wasn’t sure how far along so I called Dr. Barton’s office and the front desk was extremely rude. I said I need to make my first prenatal appointment and before they even asked anything the rude girl said “ We don’t book appointments til you’re at least 8 weeks.” Well how am I suppose to know how far along I am if I don’t see a doctor? Thankfully I found a wonderful OB that scheduled me for the next day as soon as she heard I was pregnant. Dr. Barton herself I can’t say anything about but her staff is horrible and probably cause her to lose a ton of business. It all worked out for the best though because I absolutely love love love my current OB and wouldn’t change things at all.
Staff is very friendly. Clean and help office I general.
My experience with Dr. Barton was great. She addressed all my concerns while I was pregnant and she made my labor experience better than my previous OBGYN said it was going to be like. Her office time can be a bit long so if you have a hectic schedule then this office is not for you. The wait times did not bother me because I think it was worth it for a Doctor like her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
