Dr. Thomasson treated me Friday for gall bladder problem. He and his team gave up their Friday night to do a gall bladder removal after hours. He explained everything to me prior to the surgery and spent time with me and my wife following the operation.
I 10000% do NOT recommend Dr. Thomasson. He completely messed me up. Only put 1 star because I was forced to.
My wife and I have no complaints. We love Dr Thomasson and his staff!
He totally screwed up a simple colonoscopy. It was obvious that the clean out hadn't worked even though I followed the instructions to the letter. Ordered the wrong kind of barium swallow. He aimplied that there was nothing wrong with me and that I was either crazy or lying about my symptoms to get attention. Well. 2 other surgeons and a speech pathologist all saw what was causing me to have trouble ...
He is a awesome surgeon. He is very kind.
Not sure what all the fuss and complaining is about. I went to the emergency room with stomach issues, and they admitted me finding that the gallbladder needed to come out. Now as you know, in regards to the emergency room, you don’t get to Dr shop, you just get the Dr that’s assigned to you. So Dr. Thomasson is my Dr. He came to my room and explained that we would go to surgery the following day, and we did. I found his bedside manner to be professional, caring, and courteous. He released me to go home shortly after surgery, with thorough instructions on aftercare, and set up the follow up appointment for a week out. When I went to the follow up, I might have waited all of about 15 minutes, before he was in the room talking with me, and I find 15 minutes to be completely reasonable. I ended up having some additional acid reflux after surgery, and he prescribed something for that, and asked that I return again in another week. The prescription fixed the stomach issues. I went for the second follow up, this time waiting about 5 minutes before he was in the room with me. Again, he was thorough, and I felt as though he would have taken as much time as needed until I was comfortable with his explanations and instructions. He released me to return to normal eating/ activity, and stated that if I don’t experience further issues, we’ve gotten things under control, but if at any time something comes up, just to let him know. Should I find myself needing a surgeon in the future, I absolutely will be seeking Dr. Thomasson to take care of things.
Would not recommend him to anyone, he removed my gall bladder, messed everything up so bad it was over three and a half months before I got to go back home. Had to have another major surgery done in Nashville to fix his mistakes .
Late for appointmens. Makes patients wait and prolongsee procedures. Very unprofessional. Never again.
I've had 7 surgeries done with Dr. Thomasson. He is great! Very trustworthy! Very professional!
I am very disappointed with Dr. Richard Thomasson. In all the years I have gone to him, not once has he shown up on time at the scheduled appointment time. He is systematically late, always more than an hour. When I pointed this out to him, he brushed it off as nothing. He has no regard for peoples time. Very unprofessional. Not coming back to him again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
