Mark Cavazos's Online Review Report Card

I located a dentist in the Southside of San Antonio, Texas and my first experience with them was questionable with their professionalism when conducting customer service and patient care. Evidently, the dental practice was going thru change in dentists. Dr. Cavazos retired or transferred out; and two new dentists began their practice for the Southside Family Dentistry at both locations. One at Roosevelt Ave and the other at 4407 South Pan Am. I found it odd that the dental hygienist did not include the dentist before during or after her dental cleaning of my teeth. I never saw Dr. Cavazos. The dentist was not to be seen the day of my dental cleaning. Unfortunately, the behavior and animosity were taken out on me. Whatever had transpired in that dental office was not good. First, the dental hygienist was very eager in demeaning and shamming me in a loud voice everyone could hear. I believe she was trying to make a name for herself to keep her job at the dental office. She yelled critiquing my teeth and knowing I had previous dental problems went after my situation to jab at me. While she was cleaning my teeth’ I had never experience so much pain and afterward went home and felt my immune system went down because she used a tool to clean my teeth seemed was at high pressure and/or at high RPM. I decided I was not going back. When I called after a few months for the next checkup I was going to let them know I was not going to return. I was told that Dr. Cavazos was no longer at that practice and 2 new doctors took over. I also found out that there was another location I could get seen by a different dental hygienist. I thought I'd give them a try. But again, it was not a pleasant experience. Prior to COVID pandemic I was waiting to get my mouth/night guard I was told I needed and so, paid about $300 for it. I was given the round a round; and excuses why they were not ready. Id say ok then I’ll get my refund. Then, they would say, oh it’s here. It was not until 8 months later that I finally came back to visit the office at the Pan Am location. This time because of COVID the dentist now performed the cleaning of teeth as well. Again, it was a horrible experience....But this time with the Dentist. She too began to shame me and criticizing my teeth; how do I brush my teeth; you have holes between your teeth; you’re going to get that condition....again. On and on in a loud and rude manner. I found it odd again, she did not perform all the cleaning steps I normally get for example, teeth floosing. I could not respond obviously. I was too upset and perturbed. Could it be that they are stressing out over COVID that they are taking their frustration and anger out on their patients. I will never go back again. The worst experience ever

It was quick easy and painless! I’m a total weenie and they made me feel so at ease.

The doctor and the technicians are pretty good. However, the front desk receptionist is a B***ch.
