If my husband needed brain surgery again -- which, thankfully, he doesn't -- I would go to Texas, to have Dr. McCullough treat him. The surgery he performed on my husband, Joe, required nothing less than extreme precision skills. While he was recovering in NICU, I had at least a couple of the unit's nurses, while they were talking with me, turn and look back over their shoulder, and look back at me and say " if I needed brain surgery, it would be Dr. McCullough." I didn't ask them -- they all volunteered this statement -- and it gave me so much comfort, considering the caliber of the neurosurgeons at this hospital. They didn't have to tell me that. When I was told by Joe's family doctor, that he needed a neurosurgeon, I didn't know where to begin -- and Joe was in no condition to help me with this decision. As I spoke with people that had exposure to Dr. McCullough, through various means, everyone expressed nothing but accolades. My husband says Dr. McCullough saved his life. I agree. Without a doubt, I picked the right surgeon.
Worst doctor ever just that simple. Wouldn't take the time out of my day if it wasn't true.
Botched my surgery, then left town. No referrals to new doctors. After he got his hi price surgery fee, treated me like crap. No info about how to obtain records. I received a letter saying he was leaving after he already left. Bad reputation, now that have spoke to other medical pros.
Poorly administered office, no follow through on questions, no prognosis from Dr. no current phone number to request records on the website
Dr. McCullough was straight to the point and kind, he is a doctor I would recommend to all.
Great staff friendly and they called me to confirm my appointment and let me know what I needed to bring with me ...Dr McCullough spent like 30 minutes explaining his plan for me which I felt very comfortable with ...I have a six week check -up and I'll know more since this was my first visit so far so good ??....
Great at communicating with you and taking his time to make sure all your questions are answered and best of all he doesn’t make you feel rushed like most doctors who just pop in for a quick minute then leave. Highly recommend
Dr McCullough did a fusion of C4 5 and 6 a year ago he was amazing he brought so much normalcy back to my life that I tried going back to work and of course leave it to me I fell and messed up my neck just below where he had done the fusion it looks like I might have to have surgery again I wouldn't choose another neurosurgeon only Dr MC Cullough his bedside manner is wonderful his technique is out of this world I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anyone thank you Dr MC Cullough
Dr. McCullough was great at explaining things and answering all my questions. Even though the office was very busy, I didn't feel rushed during my appointment. The front office staff and nurse were very friendly too!
I have a brain tumor, stunned to discover it in ER a couple weeks ago. They called in Dr. McCullough and I knew I was I good hands. Very professional; impeccable background; Board certified; and graduated with honors. If you must have some one messing with your brain; make sure it's someone who knows his stuff. His office staff is also a rare find. Friendly, efficient and kind. Dr. McCullough does brain and spine surgery. He's only been in Texas about 3 years. Things just keep getting better!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
