List of Antonio Aragon's Reviews
My mother is 88 and a longtime patient of Dr Aragon. Two years ago she moved to Lubbock but still returned to Dr Aragon for her check ups. On January 26 we went for our early morning appointment. After waiting almost 4 hours to see Dr Aragon we mentioned we felt letting the patient know their in-climate weather closing policy before the night before their appointment would be appreciated as Amarillo was forecasting snow and we were coming from Lubbock. Dr Aragon immediately became defensive. Closing the door and standing in front of it raising his voice, his hand and shaking his finger in my face stating it is his policy and if we have a problem with it to just deal with it! I advised him it wasn't professional to act in that manner to his patients. In his same tone he quickly advised he could do as he wanted as he owned the building. As there are other good retina doctors in the Amarillo/Lubbock area we have a choice to go to Dr Aragon and wait a half a day in his waiting room to be treated with a lack of respect or not.We choose NOT!!!
I have been seeing Dr Aragon for about a decade. He’s helped me so much with my diabetic eye problems. I highly recommend him. Someone else noted that some of his staff is not performing their job properly. I’m having trouble right now getting a surgery approved. They aren’t very helpful. I’ve been talking to my insurance and primary care physician and they both say that his office should be getting it approved. However his person there keeps telling me to go back to my primary. We’ll see how it plays out. I don’t think that I should be spending hours to get this done. Not happy.
Though the wait time can be long sometimes, I am grateful each and every visit. I have been receiving injections for Wet Macular for several years. They are always trying to improve the service for the overwhelming need for care. Dr. Aragon is professional and always answers any questions I have.
The Doctors may be good but the process for appointments is a joke. We had an appointment at 3 and at 5:45 we are still waiting. The last appointment we waited for over 3 hours. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed
Dr Aragon deserves nothing but a 5+ star rating for his knowledge and expertise. He saved the vision in my eye after a retina detachment.
It was my good fortune that a friend recommended Dr. Aragon. Simply brilliant in his field. He sat me on a stool and went through scans thoroughly explaining my condition. He corrected another physician’s earlier diagnosis, and saved me what would have been useless treatments. I don’t know all of the other doctors in this field, but I do know Dr. Aragon, and If you need him, you’ll be lucky to know him as well!
Dr Aragon is Extremely competent and thorough! The high plains is fortunate to have a doctor of his knowledge and skills. I have experienced four retina specialists in my life and I felt most comfortable in his care.
Really nice facility. The staff are professional and courteous. But expect to wait and wait some more. We were there on a “slow” day and spent almost 4 hours there.
This place is herding people like cattle from one waiting room to another with waiting periods of 2-3 hours! I think we have a scheduling problem along with an ethical one to treat patients like animals with nothing better to do than wait on these specialists. If you’re referred here be prepared for detestating multiple visits that take a lifetime.
Dr Aragon is superb. His staff is inept. Staff does not complete referrals nor adequately communicate with Dr Aragon. This ineptitude jeaopardizes health. He sholud either fire some or at least have better training and expectations. They ignore important work crucial to patient wellbeing. Even after repeated requests.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
