List of Debra Mccollum's Reviews
Very impressive. Very professional. Very carrying.
She has a heart that shares with your heart.
Very good. I would recommend Dr. McCollum to anyone needing heart surgery.
The best there is. 3 years ago she performed a open heart double bypass on me. 100% perfect rythum, average B.P 120 /85. Unfortunately I broke all the wires after the surgery and she had left the area. 2 other cartioligist did nothing except the last one finally ordered a chest scan and it looked bad. He sent me to a surgeon that refused to help me until I loose 50 pounds. ( I'm only 18 pounds over weight. I learnt Dr. McCollum had returned to the area so I set up an appointment and transfered everything to her. It too her 5 minutes to tell me she will set me up with a surgeon in Lubbock that works with metal bone fixtures. Metal plates on both sides of the rib cage will hold the sturnum back together. You couldn't find a better more experienced heart surgeon than she.
Everyone in the office was very helpful and professional. Dr. Mccollum, nurse and the assistance were very helpful when explaining things so we could understand what was going on. I will always highly recommend this Doctor and her staff.
The staff was great. Dr. McCollum explained thing as best she could at the time since we needed more tests run. Follow up will give more detail as to what is expected next.
She explained everything very clearly to me and she was very caring and concerned with my care.
After my sister had a triple heart bypass done by Dr. McCollum, we found out not even three years later that she had not performed all three bypasses as she was supposed to have July 2017. My sister started having a heart attack February 2020 and she thought it was acid reflux. We were shocked when they took her in for an emergency stent, then showed us the pictures of her heart. One artery was still clogged and another artery wasn't even connected to allow blood to flow through it. I would definitely try to get more information about this doctor before you allow her to do surgery.
From the start she and her staff came to my room and explained all Pre op details of my procedure, Post op visit was as detailed and she held no punches as to what I just went through. I was relaxed knowing of her experience with what I had to undergo. TGMC Dr’s along with Dr’s from CIS have come through for me in the past, at that moment you’re trusting all players are on their game, it’s in Gods Hands after that. Then you go home, follow the Surgeon and her assistants instructions to the T and you’ll heal up just fine. During my first visit/checkup I was asked if I had any questions at all, I was not rushed at all during my visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Deborah McCollum to family and friends.
Although Dr. McCollum is seemingly a good surgeon she doesnt have a good bedside manner at all. She was supposed to perform 5 bypasses on my grandfather this morning. Mind you, my grandpa is 87 years old so this wasn't a minor surgery. When the surgery was over she came out to let us know the surgery went fine and that she performed 3 bypasses. When we asked her why she only did 3 when she originally said she was going to do 5 she walked away without answering any questions or clarifying why she only did 3 of the 5. So now we are left in the waiting room waiting for answers.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
