This has been toe worst experience with a physician I've ever had. I transferred from another Dr because she was affiliated with HCA hospital and that's who 3worked for. I told her that up front. And I would need my medication transferred and called in. After 3 visits never got all the medication. He tried to take blood with my arm on the bed unsuccessful. Then sent to a non hca lab. I called to make an appointment due to I had changed jobs and needed a new prescription. I was told by someone named Anna I didn't need an appointment since I was due for my annual. She said it was called in. For the last month every week I called to see what was going to be told it was called in. I called the pharmacy and was told it wasn't, called the office spoke with Anna again she said she would put a rush on it. Gave it a few days called the pharmacy no prescription. Called Anna back she said she would go to the back and speak with the Dr to see what's going on. When I called back she said it had been 48 hours they should have it. I asked can I just come get it and take it because I'm out and I need it she said yes. I take off from work get there some guy there and say you have to see the doctor I told him I called for an appointment and was told i didn't need it because there was nothing I needed but my prescriptions. He said Anna was virtual, so the entire month looks like Anna was just playing games. But left without medication prescription. Then get a letter the next day that they no longer wanted to treat me. I wasn't going back anyway but I hope no one else gets treated like this . The entire staff and doctor was horrible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR
I wish I could give them zero stars. I had my annual planned today. I’ve had this appointment scheduled all week. I was told that there would be no co-pay because it’s my annual/physical. So when the receptionist called me up and asked me for my co-pay, I asked him why was I being charged the co-pay if it was my annual? He said doctor Mbi doesn’t do annuals or physical. The first visit only establishes care. My main reason for going was to have my annual and get a referral for my first mammogram and have a full blood panel. My appointment was at three, I walked in at 3:07 because I fell on the sidewalk near the office because there was no obvious line of demarcation indicating that there were two steps down. I fell on the concrete and hurt my knee and now it is swollen and bloody and scraped up. I stood in the waiting room 5 minutes before someone came out. They didn’t call my name until 4PM!!!!!!!!! AND turns out that Dr. Mbi doesn’t even do physicals on the 1st visit. I told the receptionist that i’ve had this appointment scheduled all week and the lady that scheduled it reassured me over 10 times that there would be no charge. Not once did she mention that Dr. Mbi doesn’t even do physicals your first visit. I spent $45 for a Lyft to get there and back for absolutely no reason. I wasted money, wasted an hour, and hurt my knee on office property for no reason. When I expressed by frustration to the receptionist he said “That’s the call center. They don’t know how it works in office.” Then why the hell is she answering the phone giving misinformation?? I put in PTO and took off work for this foolishness. I literally sat in the office for an hour bleeding and never saw the doctor. I’m PISSED OFF and will be filing formal complaints.
I have been going to Dr Mbi for years and I mean over 5 years or more but this office has changed dramatically over the years. Dr Mbi was such a great doctor in the beginning very attentive, ask a lot of questions and I’m mean ALOT! I thought she was one of the best doctors I’ve had but that level of attention I have not seen in the last couple of years. I’m starting to feel like the staffing issues with the incompetency of some of the administrators and the overload of new patients that I’m not getting the care I need anymore, the follow up is untimely, the referrals are untimely and they just move slow on everything. If they send off labs they will call you two weeks later with the results. You have to call in for your results or you won’t get them. Ramon is the bright spot of this whole operation, very funny, caring, thoughtful and hard working. Unfortunately he has to wear 15 hats so he’s constantly having to juggle a million things. I’ve ask my wife to start looking for us a new physician, my health has begin to decline as of late and I just don’t trust that I’m in good hands anymore, just due to the fact they are so busy, and the practice has become increasingly transactional and less welcoming. They are on a slow decline, but hopefully she’s paying attention to these reviews and starting to make a conscious effort to correct things.
Honestly, if I could leave zero stars, I would. My first visit with Dr. Mbi was completely pointless. I paid $166 for what amounted to a brief conversation and a vitals check. I was told lab work would be done, but her medical assistant, Ramon, later informed me that Texas is currently experiencing a needle shortage. He stated that he could call me when needles became available, without any idea of when that would be OR I could take the lab order to Quest or LabCorp to complete the blood work elsewhere. For a first visit, this information should have been disclosed before payment was taken. I essentially paid $166 for a 25-minute conversation with no actual care provided. When I expressed my frustration, I was met with blank stares and told I would be called when needles were available. This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. I will not be returning, as I do not feel the services provided justified the cost.
I would not recommend Premier Health Family Medical or Dr. Mbi. Communication was poor, especially regarding timely lab results, and overall customer service was below average. I suggest doing thorough research before choosing this practice.
She requires a visit every 90 days for maintenance prescription. I have been on the same prescription for HBP for years and never have been required to go in more than once a year with any other doctor. This seem excessive and like she has money as her primary purpose and not the health of her patients.
I began seeing Dr. Mbi in 2023 and at first I felt she was a great doctor. During my first annual appointment, she took the time to listen, we built rapport, and I was able to receive referrals (therapist, dermatologist) that supported my care. I appreciated her attentiveness at the time. Since then, my experience has shifted. At my most recent annual, I was told that annual appointments are “free,” but if I wanted a specialist referral, I would need to schedule an additional appointment and pay a copay. Even to continue seeing the same specialists she had already referred me to the year prior, I was asked to pay for another visit just to get the referral renewed. From my understanding, the purpose of an annual wellness visit is to review your medical history, discuss symptoms or ongoing concerns, and provide referrals when appropriate. To separate this out into another appointment strictly for billing feels more money-driven than patient-centered. This same situation happened to a friend I recommended to her, which makes me hesitant to refer others now. While Dr. Mbi is knowledgeable and started off as a supportive doctor, the recent approach has felt transactional and frustrating, leaving me searching for a new PCP.
I am basing this evaluation on the customer service level. I had an appointment there at 9:30 and arrived at 08:47. I was looking for the building but could not find it because it is in the middle. I called and was put on hold, which I did not mind. When the person got on the phone and I explained where I was, she talked to me like I was dumb. Since I had driven around for some time, I told her exactly where I was. She stated, "You are not going to see our building, just park anywhere and walk in between the buildings, I asked if there was specific place to get in and she said no" I walked on the other side of the building which lab Corp and of course, I was told I was not supposed to walk there. It takes a minute to listen to people and costs nothing to be nice. If anyone doesn't have basic, then why waste your money on them? I would not recommend 😐
Nothing professional about this office. Please do not waste your money or your insurance by going here. Who pays a totally separate cost for the lab to run your test. This should be the responsibility of the doctor. This place is a rip off
