Excellent experience and customer service! Professionalism is great they take care of you very well love it.
This is an exceptional doctor . Personable and professional. Credentials also from Mayo.
I'm really torn about this review. I just want to warn others about what can happen when you go in for cataract surgery. Let me say I was treated very well at Dr. Shrums office and give 5stars to him and his staff in that regard. My husband and my mother had basic cataract surgery by Dr. Shrum and both breezed through it. Both had improved eyesight and neither had to wear glasses afterward. I had one eye done and now I can't see without glasses. While I had glasses before the surgery I rarely wore them because my eyes were okay up until the cataract. I kept believing my eye would improve over time but it hasn't. I was offered a special lense before surgery and it would have cost about $3000 opposed to a regular lense for about $1500. Now I wish I had gone with that lense instead of the cheaper one. When I questioned Dr. Shrum about my poor eyesight I was told that that happens sometimes and I that can wear glasses. I was then sent to his glasses department. I didn't buy them because I thought instead of paying at least $500 on glasses I'd just go somewhere and get the lasix procedure done. I had zero discomfort or pain after the cataract surgery, yet now I can't sit under a fan or near an AC vent because my eye is dry and it burns like crazy. Not sure what that's about. I just wanted to warn others that cataract surgery isn't definitive and to maybe consider the better lense because you may not want to wear glasses to watch TV, look out across the street, look at photos or work on the computer and your phone.
Love this doctor . Did his residency at Mayo Clinic world renowned medical facility. Was an honors student. He is personable and professional .
Never would recommend, highly unprofessional.
I have known Dr. Shrum for the 18 years that he has been in practice. He has always shown kindness, care and good judgement as a professional. I have grown to trust his experience in caring for my family's eyes. Thank you Dr. Shrum.
I have been pleased with Dr. Shrum for years. He always spends plenty of time with me and explains things very thoroughly. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been wearing glasses for 55 years and he is my all-time favorite.
My mom visited this dr with red eyes....he treated her as though she had an infection with strong antibiotics and eye drops and she had to go back and see him several times all while her eyes was getting worse. She ended up in the ER and was treated for conjunctivitis. All the meds he prescribed was working against her.
Dr Shrum is seeing me for a eye virus and I feel blessed to have a great opthamologist! The previous opthamologist I was seeing was treating me for the wrong condition. Now I have hope.
Highly Recommend , !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
