Will NOT ever use this facility again. Got a phone call 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, while sitting in their parking lot, driving 40 miles to get there, that they have been "trying to get a hold of me" to let me know that the doctor will not be in!!!! Who does that???? No calls, no voice mails left, just a call 15 minutes before my appointment!!!! Extremely unprofessional!!!! Will not recommend! Also they will not get your prescription switched if current one is not working out, have to come in to pay them for that visit! Do not recommend!!!!
The worse customer service, for front end an nurse, they never want to return your calls.
So the doctor is awesome. Listens, got the ball rolling on some much needed medical treatment; but the office is Extremely difficult to get a hold of. Im bleeding 3 weeks out of the month on this new birth-control and cant get anyone to answer the phone so i can make an appoint to ask the doctor if i should keep taking it or not. Is this normal ? I dont know. But calling and leaving voicemails isnt getting me anywhere. Even talking to the on call nurse answered none of my questions. Day four of me trying to call and nothing. Can i get an appointment to follow up please???
I saw Dr. Baumgartner. First of all if you want a close relationship with your delierving doctor do not go here. I needed a pap in my second trimester and told them I felt more comfortable with my doctor doing it instead of the nurse practitioner. They've lied to me twice. First when I was on the phone told me the doc does not perform paps only her nurse practitioner secondly told me the doc was on vacation and that the nurse would need to do it anyway. When I talked to the nurse practitioner about my concerns she said I was attacking her. Very unprofessional. Overall not recommended.
DR B AND HER STAFF ARE THE BEST!!!
Sharing the experience of my sister, who has been seeing Brittne Curran since fall of 2016. One week ago, going to the restroom my sister noticed a sharp, burning pain followed by a bloody, mucus discharge. She had been off her period over a week by this point and had never experienced this before. She got in the shower and continued to have cramping, blood and mucus being discharged, until finally passing a large, sac-like substance. She naturally freaked out thinking it could be a miscarriage. She has never been pregnant before. She went to Athens Women’s Health Center as soon as they opened, where she was TURNED AWAY when they said they would not accept a walk in for any circumstance. Rather than direct her to the ER or show any actual concern for this 21 year old woman, fearing she had lost her first child before she even knew of it’s existence, they set her an appointment for the end of the day. When the time of the appointment arrived, she was walked back to the room by Ms. Curran, WHO ASKED HER IF SHES EVER BEEN THERE BEFORE...she has been seeing her for over a year!! In the room, Ms. Curran TOLD MY SISTER SHE WAS DUMB for not having taken a home pregnancy test prior to coming to the clinic (again, my sister is 21 and has never been pregnant before, and has been fearing for the potential life of her first child since early that morning-her mind was not on taking a HPT even if she had known to do so). Ms. Curran then did a urine test where the results were negative for pregnancy. She failed, however, to attempt a blood test (which, given the timing of this event, would have been MUCH more accurate to determine pregnancy), ultrasound, pelvic exam or any further testing to find out the actual cause of the sharp pain, cramping or blood/mucus discharge. She was cold, distant, and refused to listen to my sister’s complaints about her pain and sent her on her way. She did nothing to ease her fears other than to coldly say “you didn’t miscarry, your body is constantly changing, it’s probably just your period finishing up”-even though her period ended more than a week ago. My sister was in the building for about 10 minutes. While this speaks for the clinics efficiency in seeing their clients quickly, it also speaks volumes as to their level of care and compassion for a young woman who was traumatized by the thought of losing her first pregnancy. Treating my sister as if she were crazy, and failing to really test her for any issues other than a possible miscarriage has resulted in the loss of their client and this review, which I hope can be seen not as venomous (although I am quite livid), but given in hopes that you will choose a different clinic for your pregnancy/health care. You will not find a caring, compassionate doctor in Ms. Curran and I wish more for you in your own experiences.
I went multiple times and never once actually met with a doctor, the nurse I did see was not at all helpful, and blew off any concerns I expressed despite my medical history and being a cancer survivor. It was not until I demanded lab tests be done that they found out I am premenopausal at 19 like I suspected. If they had continued doing nothing, I may have never found out and missed the small window I still have to create a family of my own. The team here is very prideful and unprofessional.
Very nice place, comfy waiting room. Friendly staff, but the doctors are off Monday. The nurse practitioner I had was very informative but not very friendly. If you want all business she's great.
This doctor's office has the worst customer care. Receptionists on phone call are very rude and inhuman. Pls get away from this awful place.
If you are new to the Athens area or you are needing a fabulous Obgyn I highly recommend Dr Fran. She is a compassionate, caring and experienced doctor plus she is just a sweetheart.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
