Dr Ai Mukai listened and made recommendations that significantly improved my back pain. She is very caring, really listens and is very responsive. I can easily contact her through the patient portal and she gets back to me very quickly. Her steroid shots don't hurt and made all the difference in the suffering I was having. I highly recommend her!

TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. Told me that she can't give me injections for my excruciating back pain. She said that I need surgery for my spinal stenosis and sent me to a surgeon. Surgeon tells me the pain is not from the spinal stenosis and even if he would operate it would not help the pain. So for over a year I am in tears and can barely move because of my back pain. Then I get a knee replacement and I pop oxycodone like there is no tomorrow but not because of the knee pain, because of the excruciating back pain. Once I heel from my knee replacement and I can't get anymore pain pills for that from my surgeon, I go see a different pain doctor. I tell him that I am just here so I can get some more pain pills before I "jump of a bridge" because of the pain. He says " I am gonna fix you. I am going to give you injections. " I almost busted in tear right there at the office as I told him that I wanted injections all along but was refused by Dr. Mukai. Because of Dr. Mukai's blatant incompetency I was forced to be in excruciating and debilitating pain for over a year not to mention the absurd amount of pain pills I had to take just to make it through the day. However, I am happy to announce that Dr. Hellman at Advanced Pain Care has accomplished what Dr. Mukai was so obviously not capable of. Dr. Hellman gave me sacroiliac injections on both sides and a lumbar epidural on the right and I am for the most part pain free. I went from a daily 10+ on a pain scale to an occasional 0-1. If you need a kick-ass pain doctor go to Dr. Hellman at Advanced Pain Care. He went to Harvard and it definitely shows in his knowledge and approach to help people with pain. Dr. Hellman is a true healer were as Dr. Mukai is a true wanna-be and will never reach Dr. Hellman's level of knowledge.

Dr. Mukai is phenomenal, I can’t say enough about her. The first thing she said when she walked through the door was how sorry she felt that my IVF wasn’t successful. She was so compassionate. Not to mention every injection or procedure I’ve had with her has gone without a hitch. I’m so grateful I found her.
