Being selfemployed and therefore not being able to rely on employer provided insurance, we wanted to find an affordable doctor (sounds like an oxymoron, right?) who was focused on preventive medicine and who would be able to followup with us should we encounter any healthrelated issues or concerns. In Dr Akhter we found all that and a lot more.Madina Medicine works on a subscription basis, as do most direct primary care physicians weve encountered during our search. The monthly subscription enables the patient to speak directly with their doctor through scheduled inperson appointments or video calls, but they also handle exchanges via phone call, email and text message. The price point is usually lower than that of insurance. Its important to note that this type of service does not replace emergency care and health insurance. On the other hand its an amazing alternative for those who seek a dedicated doctor with whom they can embark on a journey towards better health.Dr Akhter was our top pick among a few doctors we contacted because he responded the quickest and provided the most detailed answers to all our questions. My husband and I signed up last August and within just a month, Dr Akhter already helped us do our bloodwork, discussed nutrition and optimal lifestyle improvements to reach our health goals, and has been more dedicated, responsive and professional than the sum of all the doctors Ive encountered in my whole life. Im writing this review with the sincere hope that Madina Medicine will stick around and grow as a successful clinic for years to come as the level of care it delivers has been stellar so far. It is my belief that every person in America, whether they have good, bad or no health insurance should have access to a quality functional medicine doctor. Im hoping this will inspire others to check out this clinic or at least find a practitioner that can provide a similar level of care.
