I have never been to a doctor that made me feel like I was in the principal’s office being judged and condemned. But this doctor definitely fits the bill of UNempathetic, negative and yes, rude. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy, let alone anyone I cared about.

I have never found a more thorough and thoughful gastroenterologist. I have been to over 11 gastroenterologists in Austin alone over a period of 30 years. She not only thoroughly reviewed my history but also went way beyond in looking at health factors and issues beyond my specific disease. She looks at the patient as an entity beyond the intestines to better address one's health. You can't ask for more.Several years later: At some point almost all drs in the gastro department quit ADC. Alice had to absorb all the patients. The impossibility of the situation took its toll, so I had to go elsewhere. I should check back to see if there are more drs at this location.

Dr. Friedman was very kind and helped me understand what I needed to do. She explained things in a way I could understand. She is very experienced and that came through.

Dr. Friedman was fantastic. She was patient and helpful and extremely thorough. She went through all of my records on the computer and reconfirmed and updated much of the information (even if it was in other areas) which I truly appreciated. Her recommendations were helpful and this was really a great experience.

After being sick for a year and seeking help within that year from doctors, I researched and finally found Dr. Alice Friedman, Gastroenterologist at Austin Diagnostic Center- Gastro. We had a comprehensive telephone interview (due to Covid-19). Dr. Friedman was very understanding, knowledgeable, caring, and seemed excited to get me feeling better. I have been getting testing and have more to go before she can get a solid answer to my issues. Although I have not physically been in the ADC, I know Dr. Friedman will take good care of my health issues and I am excited to finally feel better. I would definitely recommend her to my family and friends. Thank you Dr. Friedman

Absolutely love how thorough she is and goes the extra mile to continuously make sure you receive the best care possible. She doesn't rush you and answers all your questions in a way you can understand. She is also willing to work with your other doctors if there are overlapping issues.

Dr. Friedman is one of the best doctors that I have ever encountered. She has been my GI doctor for over 20 years. She is caring, listens to the patient, makes sound recommendations that really work and make a significant difference in health, and goes above and beyond to address the needs of the whole patient. I highly recommend her.
