Amada Senior Care's Online Review Report Card

I don’t write reviews very often, but Amada Senior Care absolutely deserves one.<br><br>My husband came home from the hospital after having both knees replaced, and we suddenly found ourselves needing 24/7 care. We were stressed, exhausted, and honestly had no idea what to expect. From the very first phone call, Magnolia made us feel like everything was going to be okay. She walked us through the entire process, answered every question (and there were a lot), and somehow made a really overwhelming situation feel manageable.<br><br>I actually work in the medical field, so I tend to notice the little things and have pretty high expectations when it comes to patient care. I was genuinely impressed with how organized everything was, how quickly they were able to get care in place, and how well they communicated every step of the way. You can tell they have solid processes and truly care about doing things the right way.<br>Every caregiver we’ve had has been kind, dependable, and compassionate. They’ve treated my husband with so much patience and respect while helping him recover, and it’s given our whole family such peace of mind.<br><br>If you’re trying to find home care for a loved one, I know how overwhelming it can be. I can honestly say Amada—and especially Magnolia—made one of the hardest times we’ve been through so much easier. We’re incredibly thankful we found them and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Please be aware of this company before placing your loved ones in their care. If you’re already receiving services I pray that God places someone with patience and compassion. I took an assignment which was suppose to be for one person it ended up being two. I contacted them in regards to this and was told they would reach out to Patrick who is the owner for a pay increase due to assignment being more than one person. No one looked into it. I was told from Magnolia Kirlis who is the director of senior consulting that I shouldn’t have took the assignment. I explained when I took it, it was for one person. When I showed up there was a need to care for two individuals, the second was bedridden. I explained it all to Magnolia Kirlis who stated I should have cared for my original client and not assist the bedridden client with ADLs. It broke my heart to hear her say that. I pride myself in everything I do. I don’t have that kind of heart to ignore and not provide care for vulnerable individual for 12hrs. Those words did not sit right with me. This is not the type of company I want to represent. This is not the kind of company I would leave my loved one in care of with that type of attitude. What if that were your mom or any relative? That’s not what I represent. I had to leave this review because even speaking to HR regarding Magnolia attitude towards the clients were completely ignored. I wouldn’t even leave a dog in their care. This type of behavior spoke volumes to me. They could care less of your loved one. It’s all about making their pockets fatter.

The care givers from Amada have been far better than the ones from other services we have used. We would recommend Amada to anyone needing in home care.

Amada Senior Care has been an incredible experience for our family. We were referred to them by our mom’s oncologist. Patrick and Magnolia came out for my mom’s assessment. They were wonderful. They pointed out things we would never have thought of. Our family made the decision to have Amada provide round the clock care. They have been providing care for our mom for the last 2.5 years and we are so grateful. I highly recommend their services to anyone searching for the best care possible for a family member.

I am a registered nurse and Team Leader at one of the largest hospice companies in the Greater Austin area. We've tried multiple caregiving companies and what we've found is Amada is the simply the best. We've been referring our patients to Amada for several years because of the quality of care they deliver to our patients. Magnolia, Patrick and the rest of the Amada Team have been excellent! As an operator in senior living, Amada has been a tremendous support in my communities. Allowing residents support when they are not quite ready for assisted living, but are living independently. They have been a great partner over the years.

I had contracted with Amada Senior Care to meet me in my room at the hospital post-surgery and help me carry baggage to the car and drive me home. No show. I called and was told ETA was 1:00 pm. No show, I am sitting outside waiting after being fully discharged, no show. I called and said if no one showed up in the next 10 minutes, I was calling UBER. No show. Finally as UBER arrived, so did an Amada Senior Care employee. She was furious that I had called UBER and proceeded to yell and scream and make a scene at the discharge driveway at St. David's on E. 32nd. The UBER driver looked at me and said that lady is scary and creating such a scene! We left, and I will never use this horrible company again. Beware of the smooth talking owner/salesman.

We recently started working with Amada to help care for my mom, and we have been very happy with their support. Our needs have fluctuated—sometimes on a daily basis—and Ama has been an absolute pro at adjusting the schedule. She is delightful to work with. Highly recommend Amada!
