List of Austin-Concierge-Medicine's Reviews
I have been a patient before and after her practice changed to concierge medicine. The service is quick reliable and done with extreme care. I have recommended multiple close friends to this practice and every one of them has told me they were treated with quality care.
Dr Rhodes has been my Doctor for 10 years. We have always had an outstanding relationship with amazing customer service and patient care! Almost two years ago she diagnosed me with cancer during my annual physical. She referred me to a specialist, and I followed up with several more. The one thing that the specialists from South Austin to Oklahoma City agreed on, was that Dr Rhodes should get all the credit for saving my life! Her early detection my cancer made it treatable, and I am now cancer free!!
Dr. Rhodes has been my doctor for over 20 years. She has seen me through many ups and downs in my life and through many illnesses. She's an amazing listener and takes her time with you. Some doctors want to get you in, get the diagnosis, get the RX written, and get you out the door. But the reason I have stayed with her all these years is because she really cares and she really listens to you. She's more sophisticated in her knowledge base and diagnosing than a regular PCP. And that coupled with her kind patient demeanor makes her a perfect choice for someone looking for a doctor. I recently have become a member of her concierge practice and now I love her even more!! The convenience of being able to call her whenever needed and not necessarily having to go into her office is such a great service for me as a single mom of three kids running a business. I'm very busy and this is a huge timesaver for me. Plus, knowing that if I need her on a Friday night or over the weekend she is just a quick call away. That is a wonderful feeling. One Saturday morning I woke up with severe back pain. I didn't even have to get out of bed!! I just called her up and told her my symptoms and she was able to diagnose my problem over the phone and sent an rx to my pharmacy! If you are not a current patient I truly think you would enjoy trying out her new concierge program. But most of all you will enjoy the warm comforting way about her. You will be so glad you found her! I know I am!! Thanks Dr. Rhodes!!!
I have been only seeing Dr.Rhodes for the past couple years after leaving for college. She is personable and always makes me laugh even when I am feeling horrible. Her staff is quick to refill my prescriptions and she is always checking up on me to make sure I am getting better.
I've been going to Dr. Rhodes since I was at UT and the only time I've seen someone else since was when I left Austin for a couple of years, but I'm glad to have her as my doctor since I've been back. She's very personable and knowledgeable in her practice. Dr. Rhodes has always been thorough and has encouraged me to live a healthier lifestyle. Her staff is great too. They treat me like family. I had a problem with my insurance once and her staff went the extra mile to make sure they paid what they were supposed to. I just saw her recently. She completely remodeled her office and I found out that she's starting a membership practice. I signed right up and am excited about being able to just text her or call her now directly whenever I need her.
I have being going to Dr. Rhodes for 10+ years and have always been treated with expert care. She goes above and beyond for her patients in explaining the possible problems with their resolutions. I continuously receive follow-up calls after my appointment to ensure my health remains stable.
I've been a patient of Dr Rhodes for over a decade. I find her to be knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I honestly can't say enough great things about her. HOWEVER, her office staff is absolutely abysmal. They are disorganized and often fail to call back for multiple days at a time. More than once, I've been left without needed medications despite calling the office every day. If I didn't like Dr Rhodes so much, I would leave in a minute. As it stands, I am just about to the point that it isn't worth it anymore for me to put up with her incompetent staff. Maybe she doesn't know how awlful her staff is. I hope she soon realizes it and takes care of it. I don't want to leave, but there are many great doctors in Austin whose offices have it together.
Was new to Austin and found Dr. Rhodes on ZocDoc. She had some good reviews on that site so I booked the appointment. I should have checked Yelp or other review sites first and I would have seen the negative reviews. Her bedside manner was rough but coming from NY I didn't think much of it. Front office/secretary was disorganized. It took multiple calls to get them to call me back - and even when the callback came it wasn't Dr. Rhodes (as requested) it was the secretary. I had to follow up multiple times to get the referral that was promised to be sent to me. I told them I should probably get bloodwork done since it's been a few years and I'm hypothyroid. She just said no, we don't need it. Wait, a patient wants to get bloodwork but she doesn't feel it necessary even though this is the first time I"m seeing her and she has none of my historical charts? The next appointment - a few months later because I wasn't feeling well I had bloodwork done. She also "strongly recommend" that I get a ultrasound to check out any calcium or plaque deposits in my circulation system based on these symptoms she's seeing. This was not covered by insurance and was like $250. Coming from a Doctor I took it seriously and got it done right away (out of pocket). The results came back that I am in perfect health condition (seriously, perfect - a 0 (zero) out of 100 risk level. Can't believe Dr. Rhodes' professional opinion would be that I'm at risk. I later learned that the doctors get a kickback. Coming back to the bloodwork results - the secretary called and requested that I come in for an appointment even though I requested they tell me the results over the phone. I was told I had to come in because the Dr. had "much to discuss". I got a bit worried so set aside time a few days later. When I came in, had to wait more than a few minutes for her to arrive, then she had nothing more to tell me than I was just fine and all the numbers came back normal. She spent about 3 minutes with me and could have told me that over the phone as originally requested. To say the least I was ticked off when I got a bill a few weeks later for $66 for the office visit which took 3 min and info that could have been told over the phone. I was telling this story to a neighbor and she said she also had a similar experience with Dr. Rhodes. Steer clear.
I've been going to Dr. Rhodes for 10 years now. She is an amazing diagnostician which goes along with being a great physician. I have a lot of trouble with my thyroid going rogue on me and I tell her what my latest symptoms are and she knows exactly that it is my thyroid before the blood has been drawn. She's very caring and will spend as much time as I need which makes me feel like I'm not just a number being pushed through. I've actually never had any problem with her staff; never an issue with my insurance; always courteous and friendly. Sometimes you have to look past the staff if you have a great doctor
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor's office, in what seems like the most disorganized environment. I initially found Dr. Rhodes for my yearly "Well Woman" visit, which is how my appointment was made. However, after the visit it was coded incorrectly as a regular physical making it impossible for my insurance to cover because i had also already had my 1 physical for the year. When i went to try to solve this billing issue, I called 4 times in the matter of 4 days, left 3 voicemails, and was told I would receive calls back and never did. In the times I did connect with someone, I was told the computer system was down so they couldn't help me. So I went into the office to resolve the issue in which I again was told the computers were down, and was not given any help from the front office. Finally after 2 hours of trying to work through this, I did get to speak to Dr. Rhodes who when she was looking for my information couldn't find it because she continued to call me by the wrong first name! We finally were able to come to an agreement, after I sat on the phone with their billing company for about 20 minutes. Now, 4 months later after i paid the agreed to balance on the bill, I am still receiving a bill from the office. When I called again to get this settled I was told that they never received it, in which we found out that collections was where the money went so the front office said they would talk to them and get back to me... that was 2 days ago. When I called this morning to get an update, low and behold the computers are down AGAIN!!! And they just so happened to go down right when she was supposedly calling the billing company so she can't talk to her until that's fixed. The computers should be fixed Monday, but when I let her know that I would just come by in person the front office told me "No, come in Tuesday or Wednesday, we'll be too busy." Yet I'm still on the hook for an amount that I already paid... it doesn't make sense to me at all. This office is disorganized, incompetent, and has a terrible computer system obviously (which doesn't make me feel safe that they have all my records). Although a nice person, I would NOT recommend Dr. Rhodes to anyone because you are only going to have problems that no one there really cares about.
