THANK YOU!
Worst place I've ever been. The tech Casey was so disrespectful and rude. Said she wouldn't treat me if I didn't personally answer the every question.i was throwing up and literally couldn't answer the questions. I asked for a supervisor and she got a security guard...all while throwing up in one of those bags. These people don't care about you. You are simply a check..so if you need some real attention don't go here..and definitely hope you don't get casey
These guys are legit. My entire family needed PCR tests for school/work. Staff is super friendly. They always say results take 2-3 days but after going several times its never more than 6 hours. Even my daughter doesn't mind the test too much. Some places you can tell if they are having a bad day when they collect samples. AEC is great. I recommend my brother go there for a allergic reaction and he was happy with them too. Keep it up fellas!
I don't even want to know what they would charge for any substantial emergency 😬. A simple flush of a puncture wound that only required a bandage warranted a surprise bill of $2,000. If you're paying out of pocket without insurance, do not use this facility! The most basic care will cost you thousands.
Helpful, informative, and thorough.
Went here to get a PCR Covid test prior to international holiday travel - called and staff suggested being on site by 7:15am (place opens at 8am for testing). We were first in line. Staff was friendly and professional. Front desk staff were absolutely fantastic answering our questions about the results and paperwork and making sure it was what we needed for our airline and destination country’s requirements. Absolutely recommend - we received our results within 3 hours.
I went to this ER the evening of June 7th with emerging chest pain and pressure 72 hours after I got my first dose of Pfizer. The nursing staff and front desk were very nice and helpful, and I got treatment right away. The doctor, on the other hand, viewed the results of my EKG and remarked "Have you ever been diagnosed with anxiety? You're just having a panic attack." He wrote me a script for a medication that would "help me relax and go to sleep."That chest pain persisted for days after my visit, and I felt like something was still wrong. I'm so glad I booked a follow up with a primary care physician and a cardiologist, because I was diagnosed with pericarditis, a condition that involves inflammation around my heart. Thanks Austin ER South for charging me money to diagnose me as a silly woman with anxiety!
I was taken care of and signed in by Shelby the ER tech and she made the entire thing sooooo much more enjoyable!!! COVID is an extremely scary thing, but she made my testing for it a very pleasant experience with funny jokes, open conversation and lots of details about procedures and was very efficient with the testing itself!! Great person and great service!!
Review for South Lamar location Covid Testing: I can only rate the intake experience since we wound up abandoning the line after a 1.5hr wait before we were provided with paperwork. That was also the first time we became aware that AETNA and CIGNA insurance (which we're insured under) are not accepted and that we'd pay $350 out of pocket. None of that was mentioned when I called for information, or we'd have gone elsewhere. Expectation setting can be better for the patients to plan properly, and I was unprepared for a drive-thru test taking over 30 min/car.
I'm surprised these guys get such high average reviews. Austin emergency center lies about their covid testing services. They call it "drive through," but it's not. You just wait in your car for them to call you in. It's terribly inconvenient and false advertising. You have to use their Emergency service and actually see a doctor. So, it's an illusion in order for them to attract more visitors, so they can take advantage of the covid insurance money. They advertise under "covid testing" on Google, but when you show up they hand you paperwork that says they are not a covid testing facility. They say that they will bill your insurance for emergency and doctor services.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
