List of Christopher Ewing's Reviews
Dr. Christopher Ewing has falsely created a medical bill during my son visit to the emergency room even though 10 minutes before we got to see Dr. Christopher Ewing my son simple muscle spasm was gone and no medical service was needed nor rendered. This is basically total falsehood just to create a bill and then without my knowledge send it to the 3 credit bureaus via financial control services collection agency thus reducing my credit score to 645 from 725. I will never ever ...ever never .... pay the $345 fictitious bill to Dr. Christopher Ewing and I am pursuing this grave matter with the local courts at Travis County.
I saw Dr. Ewing at Setons downtown ER about flank pain that turned out to be a kidney stone. He arranged for me to get a CT scan, which confirmed the stone existed.I did not receive any pain medication or further service from him or Seton. The bill for the CT scan turned out to be $7200, which is roughly 20x market value for the Austin area. The urologist to whom Dr. Ewing referred me, for actual help with the stone, charges only $250 for a CT scan.I think Dr. Ewing should probably inform patients of this extraordinarily high cost in advance, so they can make informed decisions, instead of just recommend the scan and call it a day. However, like most doctors, he didnt think of that.He also forgot to examine me before giving me a formal diagnosis i.e., he forgot to do his job.I know this because as I was about to leave, he rushed into the exam room and said (in front of myself and my attorney) I forgot to do my job.He then conducted a very rapid exam that took no more than two minutes and eventually cost me $887. This cost, too, was not discussed in advance, and had I known, I certainly would not have allowed him to conduct any such exam. It bore no medical relevance to my diagnosis whatever, since that diagnosis was already in my hand at that time.Points for correctly diagnosing the stone, Dr. Ewing, but no points for fiscal sanity or good memory. Maybe next time the exam should come BEFORE the diagnosis, eh?
The doctor ordered various tests without even seeing me. I came for urinary issuesnot a heart attack! Next thing I know I am going to CT. I mentioned this to an RN and, for whatever reason, she told me that he often orders things like that, and tries not to see the patients. I dont know if he is generally disliked and so she told me those things, but it is frustrating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
