Ellie Mental Health's Online Review Report Card

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Cindy, the dedicated owner of Ellie Mental Health. Cindy is a wonderful person whose business acumen, commitment to our community, and authenticity are remarkable. At the heart of this clinic lies Ellie's mission to make wellness accessible in our community. I would enthusiastically recommend Ellie mental health to friends and family.

I initially reached out online to schedule an appointment and the automated response said that I would hear back within 3 days. I believe I reached out initially on a Friday or the weekend but it seemed weird that I didn't hear anything back over a week later. I sent a follow up email and then several days later I got two phone calls and an email in the same day. I was able to talk to someone and schedule an appointment relatively quickly at that point. The therapist I was matched with was nice but I don't think they were personally a very good fit for me. I have a busy schedule and I made my appointment with enough time to decompress before I had to give a presentation at work but we went about 30 minutes over so I didn't have that time. And while it's definitely a personal problem that I didn't just stop them, I found it frustrating how much the clinician was explaining things that I already knew. Ultimately I expect to speak more in a therapy session and it felt weird that for a first appointment I wasn't doing most of the talking. But I can see how this approach might be good for some people. I went ahead and scheduled my next appointment (something is better than nothing, right?) for the following Friday but I found someone else early the next week that I feel would be a better fit for me. I called the office to cancel my appointment Tuesday morning and was reassured it would be cancelled. But Thursday I got a reminder email about my appointment. I went ahead and messaged through the portal to cancel my appointment. It wasn't until 15 minutes into my scheduled appointment time that the clinician responded and apparently I'm being charged for a late cancel 🙃 So, to summarize, the therapist was nice, but not for me. But communication on the business half was lacking and it really put a bitter taste in my mouth.

The owner is a wonderful & genuine person who’s put together a great team. Love Ellie’s goals of breaking the stigma of mental health and making therapy more accessible for ALL in our community! They truly have a heart for service. Definitely a clinic I’d trust recommending to my family and friends for therapy.

The atmosphere there is wonderful. I love their approach to mental health!

I had the opportunity to join in on the Open House celebration and was so impressed by the people and the wonderful space at Ellie Health! I know these accomplished therapists will be a welcome help to many and serve to address a critical need for increased access to mental health services!!

Ellie Mental Health is a great contribution to the NW Austin area supporting those that seek an inclusive, comfortable, and warm, place to receive care. Spread the word!!

Knowing Maricela for some fifteen years—she has always been an effective listener but has the gift of being a listener with an ear of total empathy alongside an attuned knowledge of meeting people where they are. She was able to help me reach a goal I was working on after a traumatic event in my life. Maricela made me feel welcome and safe when we first met her so I opened up to her quickly. I am very comfortable talking to her about my life and personal issues. Ms. Galindo’s kindness is unmatched and you will know this upon engaging with her. Without judgment, Maricela’s innate abilities in this profession offer guidance when all a client fears are trepidation—communication via all methods when you need the healing space to talk, and ultimately a dynamic trustworthiness that is flexible enough to embrace your needs at a crucial moment in time.

Great caring staff! Beautiful relaxing environment for in person or you can talk to your therapist on a telehealth call, which for me, makes life a little easier. I would highly recommend Ellie Mental Health.

Maricela really helped me realize unconscious thoughts and feelings using Sandtray Therapy. She helped me process these thoughts and feelings to help me heal in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I highly recommend her.
