kinda horrible
A dear friend took a fall and I've been helping her now at home. I'm a civilian in terms of medical care and a senior like my friend. She has benefitted from inpatient rehab and now home health services. Our experience with both has been extremely positive. All the staff, nurses and therapists are polite, caring, patient and professional. They've worked tirelessly to accommodate my friend's needs which are complicated due to the Corona virus threat. I'm grateful for Encompass's services and I would recommend them to my family and friends. I couldn't do this by myself and stand confident in my friend's recovery thanks to the well-rounded support. My Dad was receiving services by them, and let me just say.... the people that came over did not care what's o ever! Specially a gentlemen, he would LITERALLY complain and roll his eyes saying my dads wounds/situation were too complicated. My dad was sick and bed bound and that's the last thing someone in that situation wants to hear!!! If they treated him that way while I was there I can't imagine how they would've treated him if I wasn't present. After that gentlemen complained and left, later that day we received a phone call saying they could no longer provide services for my Father. My dad was so loving, respectful and even in his situation he loved to crack jokes. He didn't deserve how they treated him. After that horrible experience, my dad started receiving services by Baylor Scott & White and later hospice, and what a difference!!! They literally cared so much that even after my dad passed away they still check up on us. Till this day every time I see an encompass homehealth car passing by it reminds me of this and it breaks my heart. Do not use their services if you really care about your Loved one. Nobody deserves to be treated like they are too complicated too care for.
We had lovely support from Yolanda (RN), Penny (SLP) & Teresa (PT) for my mom with ALS. Warm, friendly & considerate professionals that are also very knowledgeable. Thank you Encompass!
hospital arranged for company to do in-home rehab for my total knee replacement. I was not awed by them. Usually in and out in 20 minutes and never pushed me to do more. Always changing the time and rather half-hearted effort.
My Dr referred me to Encompass Home Health, Georgetown, after knee replacement surgery. Robert did my initial evaluation. He was great! However, I never saw him again. The Physical Therapist Assistant they sent on the 2nd and 3rd home visits only took my vitals and asked if I had any questions. She did not do even 1 minute of exercise or stretching with me. For the 4th visit, I called the office and requested a different therapist. They sent another physical therapist assistant who did exercises with me. I wish they sent actual physical therapists, not assistants. On the 5th visit, the lady who came lectured me for quite a while (10-20 minutes) on the "what ifs" should I have a fall because I had progressed to the point of not needing a walker every step. Her lecture set me back 2 days in the progression of my getting well because she took away my confidence in my abilities. Interestingly, Robert from the initial evaluation had told me I had the ability to walk without the walker if only I had the confidence to do it (which I didn't have at that time). She was great about doing the exercises with me and suggesting new exercises because I was getting bored with the current ones. The 6th visit was back to the PT Asst who had come on the 4th visit. I had my post-operation doctor's visit before the 7th home health visit and he released me from his care. He also gave me a referral for outpatient physical therapy. When Encompass Home Health arrived for my 7th visit, I informed the PT Assistant that I this would be my last visit with Home Health because I'd be starting outpatient physical therapy the following day. She called into her office and told me. The office person told her to leave my house without doing my exercises or anything. She followed their orders. This was at 8:45am. At 1:40pm I got a phone call telling me that someone would be at my house at 2:00 for my discharge evaluation. I explained that I was away from the home grocery shopping and could not be home in 20 minutes. They told me this was the only time they could see me today and I MUST have this discharge evaluation before beginning outpatient therapy or insurance wouldn't pay for either home health or outpatient services. I called me Insurance company and they said this is not true. I feel that Encompass was trying to scare me into doing what they wanted me to do. I called the company and asked me speak to management. The person answering the phone put an RN on the phone, not management. I explained the situation and they told me that I was not required to do the discharge evaluation for the Insurance company to pay for the prior services I'd received from them. I told them I'd be happy to do the discharge evaluation if it included physical therapy/exercises as part of the visit. The RN said it would not include physical therapy/exercises, only answering a lot of questions and measuring the degree of movement in that leg. I declined the discharge evaluation because I can't see paying for their evaluation when it will have no benefit to me. Plus, I will be evaluated the following day by the outpatient physical therapy company. I do not appreciate being bullied by Encompass Home Health, Georgetown.
We received "dual service" of Home Health and Hospice Care as Dad declined but still needed his insulin. Their services coordinated very well and were key to keeping Dad comfortable in his last months. The on-call nurse was very responsive when Dad's end came suddenly on a weekend. Highly recommended!
These people are fantastic! I have used their services twice, following the recommendation of my surgeon. There are limitations on what Medicare will cover, but the cheerful young woman who helped me bathe, the nurses, the PT and OT were extremely helpful, as well as personable -- and always on time. I have had experience with other agencies, and there is no comparison.
The therapist are great people but don't get use to them cause every couple of months they get replaced by someone new. Something about "company policy" or what have you so if your child has socializing problems you might want to reconsider.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
