My 17 year old son had pectus surgery in December and Dr. Grethel was great. He and Cheryl were thorough and answered all of our questions before surgery. Follow up appointment went well. Dr. Grethel’s surgery team at Dell Children’s Hospital was awesome too! We’re very happy to have found Dr. Grethel.

The night we met Dr. Grethel was the most terrifying night for our family. But his professionalism, calm and concise treatment plan helped bring our little girl through a successful surgery. Our daughter was flown to Dell children’s and the triage team was excellent with her until we got there. He went above and beyond to meet us at the ER door to began walking us through his treatment plan.

in early May 2016, my 5 years old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia and was told to have surgery immediately within that evening. Our family was completely turned upside-down. Dr. Erich Grethel was the one performed the surgery to implant a catheter & port and get ready for my daughter cancer treatments. Today, November 29, 2018, our Madison was under the same dr Erich Grethel's talent and REMOVED that same port & catheter out of our Madison. Within a few hours later our Madison was feel completely FREE without CANCER (because NO MORE PORT, yay) We are so blessed to have have such talent doctor like Dr Erich Grethel served as guardian angel over our Madison. Your name will never will forgotten from our family and our Madison's hearts. Thank you very much Dr. Erich Grethel ! You are awesome!

Dr. Grethel helped my son with a pilonidal cyst. He has a great bedside manner and was great with answering any and all questions.

Dr. Grethel did our 2 year old daughter's surgery in January 2017 after being admitted for the second time with difficulties related to her Choledochal Cyst. Being that our daughter's condition is fairly rare, we were so scared. Dr. Grethel answered all our questions(some more than once, I'm sure), checked on our daughter everyday pre-op and post op. He always took the approach of "better safe than sorry" and never pushed our daughter to do anything post-op she wasn't ready for. Our daughter had no difficulties during surgery and had an amazing recovery and there isn't a doubt in my mind that is mostly in part to Dr. Grethel as well as his staff.

My twin b was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness during her stay at Dell Children's Hospital and if Dr. Grethal had not taken her to surgery when he did we would have a life without her. She is thriving and surpassing all expectations. His staff has been nothing but tiredless, courteous, sympathetic, and empathetic whenever we needed them. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone with a child needing surgery and care.
