Professional staff - Smooth process for a Covid PCR test. Received results within hours.
Do NOT go to this location!! They do not stay consistent to the hours they advertise on their website. I learned that the hard way after traveling 30 minutes with two toddlers to get Covid tested. We arrived at 6pm. I was denied service because apparently “the physician decided to close.” Unreliable and a complete waste of time for me to drag my whole family to go get Covid tested if your physicians are going to decide to close early whenever they want to.
Visited for a Covid PCR test. ER Tech Lauren handled the checkin and test. She is the most cheerful and helpful HC professional I have ever dealt with!
The staff, nurses and doctor on call the evening I went in were all very friendly, efficient and made an unfortunate occurrence tolerable. The staff was able to get me back into a private room within 10 minutes of signing in and was hooked up for care right away. I would much rather choose the Austin Emergency Center over a hospital ER, even if there wasn’t a pandemic. The hospitals, bless the doctors and nurses that work there, are over worked with constant influx of patients with never enough space and beds. I was told that the Austin Emergency Center has financial hardship accounts and I hope to have a better experience here than at St. David’s. Will update if there are issues.
They called to collect, I informed them of the situation, and they called back the next day to tell me that I was correct. I am very pleased that this issue was resolved in favor of truth and have revised my review to reflect that.Original review:Surprise billing. I go, I get "treated," but not really. I get told what I need to pay and that I will not be charged more. I pay it. I get a bill months later telling me to pay more. The numbers don't even add up. I'm being charged for transfer from insurance when I didn't use insurance. What a joke.
$788.55 for a Covid Test. Austin ER haven't charged me anything but that was what my insurance company had to pay. Total bill was $1,381.18. I never left my car.
Dr. K and the entire staff were caring, efficient, and professional. Doc told me a much more effective way to take me otc meds for the pain I was experiencing and made sure to cover all the bases concerning my emergency. Wonderful visit this past Sunday, even though my mouth was too sore to partake in any of the Halloween candy! :)
Thank you guys. Great experience. Now my coworker is so motivated and she’s got energy mentally already, I don’t what the doctor and the staff did. But good job.
Nurse Mallorie, Dr. Roekel, Lisa and Victoria rock! I was blown away by their hospitality, promptness and knowledge. I went in for a cut on my hand and they took care of me quickly and taught me a lot in the process! I highly recommend Austin Emergency Center!
Really great experience overall going to this facility. I put my bike down on a gravel/dirt surface and my forearm looked like a cheese grater got to it. Dr. K gave me 19 sutures and I can't believe he was able to put it back together, looks incredible. In and out relatively quick too in time for dinner at Perry's Steakhouse. Also extremely skilled, kind, and caring staff. Pablo assisted and did great too. Thanks guys! Highly recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
