List of Jaron L. Winston's Reviews
A Dr. interested in my wellbeing. Spends as much time as necessary with me to insure that I am doing ok.
I echo another reviewer in lauding Dr. Winston for managing my husband's meds and his needs into a manageable place for him and his family.
Very good and very Nonjudgmental 😊
Dr. Winston is a superb psychiatrist and very knowledgeable general physician. I am a retired physician with several very complex interrelated problems which had not been well handled in the last few years. Dr Winston makes constant eye contact and listens carefully. He asked about anything for which he needs more information. He has past physicians’ records available online which he looks at as necessary. He makes good and reasonable plans and checks to see that the patient and any other family or friends present understand the plans which he writes out. He is very careful. I am 74 and have been to many physicians. I have found only two others with comparable skills.
My father in law is a long time patient. He is in a wheel chair so I am his transportation to appointments. We also live 30-40 minutes away depending on traffic. He was running a little behind when I picked him up for his appointment earlier this week. I knew we might be about 10 minutes late so I started calling the office number before we left the parking lot of his independent living facility. I wanted to let the receptionist know we may be late and if we would need to reschedule. I kept getting a message that the number was disconnected as I tried numerous times to call on our way there. The appointment was at 9:20 and I approached the reception desk at 9:32. The cancellation policy is 10 minutes late. After I was told Dr Winston said he would not see my father in law, I explained that I tried calling multiple times. The receptionist acknowledged she was aware that the phones were not working and still said he could not be seen. If we had shown up past the time without calling, I would understand. However, this was completely uncalled for, in my opinion, based on the fact that she knew the phones were out and we were 12 minutes late. We will be finding a new doctor.
Dr. Winston wanted to treat my depression with his new magnetic machine. Insurance did not cover this, which costs thousands for a few sessions. After one treatment I had headaches and heart arrhythmias and decided not to continue. I cancelled payment on a check for $500. Someone from his office called me and made specific mafia-style threats. I offered him $250, but the good doctor wanted it all. This guy is a quack and money grubber.
A very pleasant visit. When we arrived we had almost zero wait time. Everyone was so nice with us. Dr Winston spent allot of time asking questions and reevaluating her medications. He took time to explain all aspect of the treatment and made sure all of our questions were answered. We highly recommend him.
Dr.Winston diagnosed my husband w/Alzheimer's 3 years ago---there is just no other doctor like him in his field. Even doctors that "I" see personally speak very highly of him. He is known and respected in and outside of his medical speciality. He is unique, as is his staff. He leaves no stones unturned. My husband has the BEST care available to be had, ME and Dr. WINSTON! Don't short change your loved one, make the appointment ASAP. Both of you will feel so much relief and support when you leave his office.
Dr. Winston and his staff are excellent, caring, professional and really want to help seniors and their loved ones. He is the only Board certified geriatric psychiatrist in central Texas who also does research and is on the cutting edge of finding treatments and cures for memory disorders. He also has a TMS treatment center for adults 18 and older for treating depression.
Dr. Winston is professional, caring, and a great doctor. Highly recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
